The 15LW1R, LG's new 15-inch wireless LCD TV
Despite the cord running out the back, this is in fact LG's new 15-inch wireless LCD TV, the 15LW1R. You probably know the drill by now with these things (Sharp has had a few models out for a while now), but basically the 15LW1R has a rechargeable battery and wirelessly connects (over 802.11g) to a base station that you connect to your video source (like a cable box or DVD player). Has a range of 115 feet and can also connect to your home network if you want to access digital photos or music stored on your PC. Will retail for $1,199.

So there's no wires INSIDE, either? Damn...that *is* innovative.

Nice...Whats playing on the screen?

This is actually useful. A friend of mine asked me months ago if there was a device of some sort he could plug his cable/sat/etc into and have the signal stream wirelessly to sets in other rooms.
I didn't think such a beast existed. This is an option... are there others?
Any that support multiple sets?

Wireless, huh? What the hell is that thing on the right? A tail????
Broken Fuse @ Dec 19th 2005 12:18AM

Richard,
If you already have a TV and need to stream a signal to it there is a product called AngelTrax CATV2400
http://www.angeltrax.com/hot_products_pages/catv2400.asp
I've been using it... it's not bad. Once and awhile I get static or intermittent signals though.
hafa @ Dec 19th 2005 12:18AM
wireless or not, its gotta have a power cord
whats an issue here is, 802.11g does 54 or 108 mbps, will there be enough bandwidth to do 30 fps or higher ?
Carbsumer @ Dec 19th 2005 12:18AM
Does it do IR relay so you can control the video source with a remote control? If not, it would seem rather difficult to use.

Wonderful Days (South Korea, not Japan)

*cough* Sony locationfree TV *cough*
Martey @ Dec 19th 2005 12:18AM
The main question in my mind is whether it has support for WPA, or at least WEP.

"whats an issue here is, 802.11g does 54 or 108 mbps, will there be enough bandwidth to do 30 fps or higher ?"
Well, yeah...since it's a television and all and anything below that FPS realistically looks choppy...
Resonance @ Dec 19th 2005 12:18AM
Fuckin thing's not in 16:9....may as well pitch it.
