Rad-Op100 gigabit Ethernet optical bridge
No, the Rad-Op100 from German outfit Laser2000 isn't the first gigabit Ethernet optical bridge. But it's almost certainly the first to take its laser heritage so literally, with its alien-spaceship weapon-mount look. Not that it matters much, since this is destined to sit on the roof of an office building or at the window of a data center (do any data centers have windows?) silently beaming its line-of-sight signal to another unit next door or across the street, acting as a much sleeker bridge for your company's data than a crude underground cable.
