High Definition in medicine - a Want or a Need

teeth

We all know and value the high quality picture that shoots out of our HDTVs into our living rooms everyday. Medicine and science are starting to get past the large price tag of high-def and see the value that it holds. A few days ago there was a dental conference in which the dentists watch 1.5 hours of HD video documenting cosmetic procedures. It was so widely received that it received a standing ovation. Image the detail that surgeries can now be examined in too.

But is this really necessary? Is it necessary to spend all that time and effort in training someone to use the HD equipment and hen editing it? Plus, all the money it would cost for the equipment and training. Yes, there is a need! Healthcare already costs a ton so why not educate the doc's a bit more. If HD will help them learn better, then I am all for it.
