Spreading the love of art with High Definition and.....Wal-mart?

Cancel that trip to the conservatory, you can get your dose of art at your local Wal-mart with their new "HD American Portraits". Teaming with PRN (who also provides the in-store media network for Best Buy, Sams's Club and others) and filmmaker Christopher Coppola (nephew of Francis Ford Coppola and director of such acclaimed titles as "The Creature of the Sunny Side Up Trailer Park" and "The Journey of Allen Strange") will display an artists portrait of an everyday person from somewhere in rural america on Wal-Mart's in store network on high definition TV's.

Although Wal-mart and art seem like odd bedfellows, it is nice to see varied uses of the HD experience.

Between this and their Xbox 360 kiosks, I may never leave Wal-mart again.
