Please don't make us get the Bratz lipstick MP3 player

If this is at the top of any gift lists you've been handed, all we can say is, we're sorry, man, really. The Bratz Lipstick MP3 Player is exactly what its name implies, and we're not even going to waste your time with the specs, which are pretty anemic, considering this thing goes for about $80 at outfits like Toys R Us. And, just in case you have to know, no, it doesn't have real lipstick; the USB plug is hidden beneath the pseudo-lipstick cap. Who knows — maybe that's enough to convince the kid that she doesn't really need this. Nah, probably not.
Still, due to the screen and the built in USB plug, this is in the top three choices of my next MP3 player. What a sad, sad commentary on the state of consumer electronics.
Wow , considering this is the Bratz line, it's surprising they went with lipstick and not a vibrator.

I am only 24, but when I used to go to toys r us when i was a kid, there would be barbie and cabbage patch kids, etc... and now you go in there and there is a whole isle devoted to whore dolls :)
Whew, I'm glad I already got my daughter an iPod shuffle ... or she would surely be asking for this.
Am I the only one who sees that its a Beatles song playing on the thing... now thats not very realitic is it :)

The earphone adapter is kind of an ugly gray that doesn't seem to flow with the unit's style.

There is no way on earth I would by my child an MP3 Player. I would much rather spend a much lesser amount on a cheap discman from Walmart. I remember when My dad bought me a Sony walkman (blue) back in the early 90s for $50 CANadian and that already made me feel special and I intend to use the same methods on mine.

The unit has no style, it looks like a dildo with no tip. Does it vibrate?
geoff, I was actually wondering if maybe even though they chose a lipstick, maybe the thing also vibrates? :P
This is all fine and dandy until a child goes to put on the lipstick and slices their lip on the usb plug. Serious lawsuit brewing with this little thing.

How many of these things can they possibly sell? 5,000? 10,000?
Think of all the hours of product development and testing went into this. Think about all the creative hours working on a marketing and advertising plan. Think about all the time and all the money that went into a total stinker of a product.
It's all for nothing because it will fail! The suits will be stunned (stunned!) that this product failed.
Please...as a 27 year old growing up wanting every new Barbie that came out... The were "slutty" for the times too. Pink and blue eyeshadow, red lipstick, a skinny waist, big boobs, cut off shirts...Bratz is just another replication. The previous reviews are like the potd calling the kettle black. Every little gir; has owned what was deemed back in the day as a slutty barbie doll!!!!!
Come on, are you people nuts? Or just have too much time on your hands? This toy looks like a tube of lipstick...not a penis! Do any of you even have children? The reason it's made to look like a tube of lipstick is to grab 8-10 year old girls attentions...it symbolizes "girly-girl" (if you had a daughter in this age-range, you'd know what I'm talking about), it has NOTHING to do with sex! You people need to use your energy putting up "Porn Destroys Lives" billboards, and leave children's toys alone.
Be real folks. This is simply another Bratz item in the form of a lipstick. Where are the vibrator and penis ideas coming from? I think we are putting more into this item than is necessary. Remember this item was prepared for kids and not experienced adults! Ease up on the unnecessary sexual suggestions!!!
Some people have nothing better to do with their time. The Bratz Mp3 player does not have any sexual content. Any one who sees it in that way is sick. It is a simple plain item for young girls to look cool with. I ordered my 11 yr one and I hope that she really enjoys it.
I don't understand what all the fuss is about all i know is my little girl loves bratz, i will go out and get this mp3 player, people read to much in to things get a life.
oh come on. we as young people are simply poking fun at these two things:
1) any child who has an mp3 player is actually the one who needs a life. when i was young i didnt sit there and pretend to be cool with my hip new technology, i colored in books and rollerskated with my friends.
2) the issue that dolls bring up with body image. like #22 said, the dolls are always just a little too saucy for their time.
