More on Samsung's SPH-V8200 8 megapixel cameraphone
No, we still don't expect to be able to buy Samsung's 8-megapixel SPH-V8200 camphone anytime soon, but that doesn't mean we don't like looking at it or checking out its specs. MobileKorea has some new images, along with the observation that the phone includes a "real metal and handgrip on the back" (okay…) and also includes features such as TV-out, a file viewer and an MP3 player. But, of course, it's the pics that are worth checking out, since you'll never get your hands on the actual phone anyway.

"since youll never get your hands on the actual phone anyway"
If you go to the Samsung Expierience in the new Time Warner building in Columbus Circle, they have all the phones and electronics that you always feature (including the hard drive phone and this 8 megapixel one), and they let you use them as much as youd like. I'd really recommend checking the place out. The only downside is, since its not a store (its a samsung showcase) you cant actually buy anything. Sorry for all of you that arent living in NY.

Even if we can't buy it soon, it sure is nice to know that things like this are in the pipeline. VGA phonecams really suck, and I don't imagine that the currently available 1 and 2MP models are much better. It will be so good to see phones with >4MP hitting the market in the near future.

The Samsung Experience store in NY has a printer attached to this phone. So if you take a picture in the store, it will automatically print out the picture for you. You will be surprised how well the pictures come out - I was personally shocked. This phone would be a huge hit if it was ever released in the US.

I went to the Samsung Experience recently too. I even got away with snapping a pic of that new Samsung dual hinged qwerty phone (Cingular) before getting busted.

WOW - What a waste of money - not just for the consumer but Samsung developing this junk.

What a handsome phone!

I agree with Pal, this thing is truly beautiful - and packed with features to boot... come on Samsung!

Gawd it's nasty looking but I've been waiting foreveeeeer for a decent phone-sized cammera (that's also a phone). I'd buy one in a heartbeat!
