ExpressCard/34 4-in-1 media reader 2
Yup, just another
media reader (SD / MMC / Memory Stick) for ExpressCard/34-based laptops, like what we already saw.
Special? Nope. Notable? Well, they won't be after this, but just don't go thinking ExpressCard's gonna go away and
PCMCIA's poised to make a never-went-away-comeback in '06.

As with the other expresscard media reader mentioned on engadget, this one says Windows only. Is it just going to take drivers or will it take a rearchitecture to get these to work on the new Macs?

It will probably take "plugging it in".
Proc @ Jan 12th 2006 10:54AM
And what about Linux drivers? Are they expected?

More express card stuff, it'll be interesting to see what we can actually do with these things. It's a bit sad though; I there will never be a Prism2 or HERMES based wireless express card, making the new macbooks crap for wireless fun (unless you go USB - sleek).

I hope you're right Mr Tips :o)

Not to be a hater but Expresscard can do bidirectional 250MBps and the first cards hitting are card readers?? WTF?

All these readers are for SD and the like. Are these slots even large enough to accomidate a compact flash card?
