Fujitsu Siemens-Pocket LOOX T810 / T830 get details
Well,
that was fast. We went from concept mockup to leaked product shots and deets in about, what, five hours or so? Looks
like the LOOX
T800 series (including the T810 and T830) will apparently be announced right prior to V-day next month at 3GSM, and
will be shipping in July if we're to believe Pocketinfo. Both should / could have UMTS, 802.11g, Bluetooth 2.0, 128MB
flash memory, 64MB RAM, Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU2, GPS; the only difference, it would seem, is that the T830 has a 2
megapixel camera, whereas the T810 does not. And there you have it.

From the photo, it looks like it has a square screen (which I don't care for), but still, talk about drool! Very nice specs.
I'm curious as to what GPS chipset it has in it (SirfStarIII, maybe? Hopefully, anyway). I also want to know if it's quad-band GSM or only tri-band (hopefully, the former).
Looks great, so far.

This looks to me a rebranded BenQ P50. Wait a minute, didn't they buy the Siemens Mobile division?

wow. if the specs are true than this thing is one sweet device. I would have never expected such a beauty / feature monster from Siemens just a year ago.

Oh wow... THE IT.

The GPS chipset is SIRF III, so that should make for pretty good acurate navigating....

I dunno about the comparison with the key, but either the keyboard keys are wayy smaller than the Treo650 or the whole device is just a lot bulkier. If only we could have a side-to-side comparison soon *nudge nudge*

With a screen that small... is it a smartphone or a pocketPC?
Damn thats a lot of wireless tech in there.
Gimme!

Specs are like the HTC Universal. This will be good if its priced like a PDA I wouldn't mind spending around 400 on it my iMate JasJar which I bought for 650 took a pounding on my wallet.
FS Produce high quality machines more than what HTC do I say. HTC needs to get it's act together on problems with durability. My C500 got dust clogged and my JasJar screen is a little to flimsy for my liking.

This is quoted as a leaked product shot, it looks to me as though this is a rendering though. Not sure if "leaked product shot" would be inclusive of a render and not exclusive to photos. Just thought I would put my two cents in on this.

it's the most important if it can have Radio just like O2 XDA Atom done....

Hello
There's an official datasheet for the Pocket Loox 800 series at the following link:
http://www.handheldlearning.co.uk/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,48/topic,341.0
A real beauty of a device in my opinion although could do with a higher resolution screen. Give this device a VGA screen with a slide out keyboard and it would be almost perfect!
Cheers

Any specualatins about a price? (without a contract)
dave @ Jan 19th 2006 6:39AM
OH ITS SOOOOOO CLOSE. if they did 2 things:
1. get rid of the fingerboard and put in a large vga screen.
2. put in flash ram (as much as possible for storage 2-6 gb)
this would make it SOOOOO much more usable (easier to see screen), and SOOOOO much more useful (integrated flash storage). well one can hope they come out with a loox 440 with these features.

Is it GSM or CDMA? Perhaps I missed it somewhere. Also, what carriers? and How much? This could stop me from buying a 700w
