Oregon Scientific's Ferrari FMP160
You know,
eventually Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini are going to so dilute their brands on consumer
electronics that they all might have to themselves rebadge and start anew. But until then, expect more incestuous
sidechanneling in the consumer electronics industry, like Oregon Scientific's new Ferrari FMP160, which will feature
MP3 and PlaysForSure support, USB 2.0, and 1GB of space. That's all, carry on.

Is that running on a Vic-20? You would think for a Ferarri branding it would have some uber 1280x1024 display and cost around $7,000.

I've lost all respect for Ferarri

I like Ferraris. I like Lamborginis. But buying a laptop or mp3 player or whatever, with the logo of one these companies, is just lame. You might as well paint the word 'loser' on your forhead.

You should note that the Ferrari logo used isn't the logo for the sports cars but rather for the racing team. So instead of thinking of it as luxury car branding, think of it as a sports thing. Scuderia Ferrari is perhaps the best known racing team in the world and they never pass up a chance for some marketing.

Good luck. Buy a Nano for less with more storage. End of story for this product.
Unless they can match or better existing popular products, why do these companies waste the expense & effort? geez
I guess some execs bonus was linked to getting a new product out the door..
