T-Mobile@home cell-to-landline fixed rates in Germany
T-Mobile Germany has launched a new service for mobile subscribers that allows 4 cent/minute cellphone-to-landline calls within two kilometers of the user's home or office. T-Mobile@Home is available for 5 euros/month, and is meant to rival Vodaphone Germany's similar offering. Options for the service include "Family&Friends" and "Furs Business," which allow up to five phones to use the fixed-line rates in their zones of coverage along with calling one another for free. What we're wondering, though, is why you'd want to pay a per-minute fee for local calls from your home or office when you could just use a landline in the first place and pay a flat monthly rate.
