EA completes purchase of Jamdat

The marriage that would seem to be made in heaven has officially been consummated, as Electronic Arts has jumped through all the necessary hoops to complete its purchase of mobile game developer Jamdat. The $680 million acquisition allowed EA to instantly capture 31% of the mobile game market, and put it in a good position for future mobile growth by allowing Jamdat executives to steer the newly-merged mobile content division. EA's announcement sealing the purchase also mentioned that the company plans to release 50 mobile games in the coming year.
