Ah, it's ok, you can admit that you forgot our
birthday. We guess it's not too late to send us gift basket or anything, but you know how we roll here at Engadget, and
so to celebrate our 2nd anniversary we've been blowing it out with seven days of giveaways.
Today we're giving away a
Squeezebox Wireless. Winning this fine prize is easy:
just tell us one of your favorite Engadget posts of the past year. It can be anything (except this post): a regular
post, an interview, a how-to, a review, or whatever, just post a comment below with a link to it along with a couple of
lines about why it's your fave and we'll pick a winner at random. Three runners-up will each win an Engadget t-shirt.
A couple of things:
- You can only enter each day's contest once. If you post more
than once you'll be automatically disqualified and barred from all future giveaways. (Yes, we're checking
thoroughly to ensure fairness.)
- You can only win once. (If you win and go for a
second prize, you'll be automatically disqualified and barred, etc.)
- Contests are open to
anyone, anywhere. Unless you work for Engadget or Weblogs, Inc.
We'll keep comments open for about
24 hours, best of luck to everyone and thanks for all of your support for these past two years!
Yesterday's winner:
Romel!
Congratulations, Romel!
The candy xbox 360, definiately.. I've never seen ANYTHING like it before.. Truely original.. A real smile maker! Sure would turna few heads. Made me laugh, definately deserves an award for originality.. :)
engadget 1985 was the best.
One of the most memorable Engadget posts (and therefore my favourite) was the Christmas Lights post.
My kids loved it!
http://www.engadget.com/2005/11/21/christmas-lights-gone-wild/
http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/28/voodoopc-plans-8tb-media-pc/
I dream of having such a kick ass media center PC. Maybe I can pay someone to let me be in it's presence for a while and soak up some coolness.
I like the one about nixie tube watches. It made me want to build a clock for my living room
Xbox 360 launch madness
NYU is doing some cool things. This could revolutionize how we use computers!

Good luck for everyone!
I liked this because I have the 730 and would love the new 830 for world wide use.
The Engadget Lovecast (#69! woo!) takes the cake. Great stuff.
http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/14/engadget-lovecast-069-02-14-06/
i liked the one about iubi's blue media player with Bluetooth.
my most recent fav article is http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/06/the-playstation-3-delay-mem-part-vi-variety-sez-holidays-06/... its brand new but it just adds to how much they are pushing me away from waiting for the PS3... it gets annoying when it seems a company as large as sony can't even put a proper deadline on a product release... PS - Sony open up and give us some real news
http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/06/jet-powered-vw-bug-takes-to-the-street/
This is a sik beetle, jet powered. Not to be funny. but uts actually pretty cool, don't know if there r any laws for that, but i would love 2 have this
1st?
Favorite resent post was for the one of Steve (Apple) jeans. It like how crazy are theses MAC world people. I surely would not be wearing cloths like Gates. These people are to extreme.
i need some bling in my life!
Love your site. A+++ to Engadget

funny picture and hilarious title lol.
The jet powered VW is pretty sweet.
WWJD and all the reader submissions . . .
The great info on all of the ipod rumors that continue to come out.
You are so incredibly current that every day you post several stories that rank--at least for the day--as my favorite. My favorite today is the Post PMA Camera review: http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/06/the-post-pma-camera-p-review-roundup/
Paul
I like the weekly roundups, that way I can check to see if I missed anything during the week. Keep up the fab work. 84 rooms
One of my favorite posts of the year was the "Ask Engadget: Best NAS for home use?" post. It actually gave me a lot of ideas for a home NAS project. Thanks again!
http://www.engadget.com/2005/11/10/ask-engadget-best-nas-for-home-use/
This would be great for listening to the engadget channel on XM radio.
Some day.
The Maven poem was very impressive. It was the most memorable post for me on engadget.
Bill gates post is my favorites
personally significant has been the Microsoft's Origami Project post on Feb 24. first time i've ever been excited about Microsoft. give or take $500 lifestyle PC? i would actually take that over the future iBook as i have been planning thus far.
The review of the Treo 700w was my favorite.
http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/05/palm-treo-700w-review-roundup-mossberg-says-it-doesnt-beat-65/
I was looking forward to the 700, but reviews werent promising. I have since come to appreciate the simple controls and navigation of the 650. Thank you.
I would love to win this!
chocolate xbox 360 controller
I really liked the interview with Shigeru Miyamoto.
http://www.engadget.com/2005/10/03/the-engadget-amp-joystiq-interview-nintendos-shigeru/
Pink Martini!
http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/05/ma-bell-returns-atandt-buys-bellsouth-for-67-billion/
The second part of the AT&T mabell story! Well written with just the right amount of sarcasm over the messy AT&T branding. Please pick me for a squeezebox! :)
I really liked the bluetooth call forward by proximity detection howto: http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000067067065/
I liked the RC helicopter with the shotgun attachment!
IPOD Video...
The article of the turbo-charged vw was awesome and my favorite post of the year so far. I liked it for the pictures and funny commentary. Here it is if you'd like to read it for yourself.
http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/06/jet-powered-vw-bug-takes-to-the-street/
Favority article was the How-To: Build a practical HTPC: http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/24/how-to-build-a-practical-htpc/.
Enjoyed this because not only was it a great hands-on guide with plenty of pictures, but it also provided nice reviews and comments on each hardware component involved. Keep up the great work!
http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/08/solidalliances-icool-scented-mp3-player/
I mean, is that really necessary?
http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/02/darpa-demos-remote-controllable-robosharks/
that has to be the most interesting post ever on this blog. i dont mean to undermine the fantastic gadgets that have kept me entertained for months if not years, but this is truly scary, fascinating and revolutionary. i am so happy that this blog even posts info. about scientific revelations, although i am not at all into sciences. i just thought that it was interesting as it surely opens up a new door to controlling a human brain once we begin to understand its complexities and actual functions.
I liked portable famicom one. My comment on there got me banned from here when I pointed out that you took it from another gadget site and didn't give credit.
My favorite post is really my favorite genre, the "ever-so-responsible, it is'isn't a fake" photo of a thing. Apple things always generate more of this genre so here's today's example:
http://www.engadget.com/2006/03/05/another-video-ipod-surfaces-online/
Keeping it real fake I (- infinity)
I shared the article about Margaret Atwood's robo-signature device with my edumacational colleagues. It sparked a debate about dystopian literature and the nature of science fiction. Pretty neat for an article about an author who (at first) seemed to self-important to atend book signings. Of course, the follow-up article explained the rationale for the cyber-signer quite well. Another reason why I read Engadget: I never know what might pop up, but I know that whatever I find, it will be interesting in more than one way.
so are we supposed to do a different fave every time we enter?
well my runner up fave to the nes mac mini has to be this new one:
http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2006/03/05/dell-360-intuitive-design-or-pc-rip-off/
because i just pointed that out to my co-worker last week (i have a gx270 on my desk) and was picking on him and microsoft about the design copying.
and i think its funny that dell did it with the powersuppply internal and no cooling issues, and its not really all that much bigger *laf*
oh oh oh pick me pick me!!
oh and... happy birthday
