Shenzhen Adragon Digitek offers up MP4-playing watch

If you're more interested in keeping a certain amount of full motion video strapped on your wrist than an actual clock (or breathalyzer, even), Shenzhen Adragon Digitek's MP4 watch provides the diversion you've been looking for. Similar in utility to Aigo's F209, Shenzhen's rendition provides a slightly less repulsive color scheme, and promises a very respectable nine hours of playback time. Reportedly sporting a snazzy color display, MP4 support, line-in capabilities, five EQ settings, and USB 2.0 connectivity, the timepiece can presumably provide a bit of underwater entertainment as well as it touts a "water / shockproof" enclosure. While details concerning the storage capacity, screen resolution, and pricing are MIA, the company is currently seeking firms to OEM the watch (any VCs in attendance?), so you might want to look elsewhere if you don't have time (ahem) to wait around.

WHY DOES THIS THING NOT HAVE a2DP? Now that companies are finally making wireless bluetooth headphones THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON NEW MP3 PLAYERS SHOULD NOT BE SPORTING A2DP.

This reminds me of that watch that Microsoft was supposedly suppose to release years ago, with Xbox Live features and all... I think it was referred to as a PDA watch. Unless this thing is insanely cheap (like sub-100$ cheap) it's not going to catch on because no matter how you cut it, people don't want to have large, bulky looking electronics strapped to their wrist!

Tony, don't worry, it will surelly cost less than 100$. It is just an mp4 player in another format, and they do come cheap (unless you, of course, start paying all the licenses and want to bundle some nice hearphones).

A2DP is a nice tech, but why not ask Bluetooth 2.0 or WUSB? Anyway, this means we have to pay for tech, and for the price tag this thing must have, I don't even think that is possible.

I cant imagine it would be all that comfortable to watch video with your arm in a position that would be comfortable for too long, unless you take it off -which really defeats the purpose of a watch.

I wouldnt want to really watch a full movie on this, but I think it'd be cool to just have a movie or family guy episode goin on. Itd be like digital cufflinks, more of a fashion statement with its 9hr battery life an video functions than full fledged media player. wonder how much itd be.

Yeah. It's $100 for 1 gig and $130 for 2 gig on thinkgeeek, which is where I ordered it. It's backordered though. Anyway, I think it's a good watch. A2DP and bluetooth? It's a video watch. I think some people (like me) like sporting wrist mounted electronics (thanks innovative Chinese companies!) and I for one am glad to have made the purchase. However, it only supports NXV format for videos, and I'm not sure how large that is, and how good the converter is. TIM, what do you know about this?
