Akimbo's new RCA box with Movielink available as "free" upgrade
If you're a die-hard Akimbo subscriber then check it son, that new RCA box has arrived right on schedule and it's yours, not for $200 to $300, but as a free-ish upgrade to the current Akimbo Player. It'll cost ya $30 for shipping and handling with an expected delivery sometime in "early November." But hey, that's a pittance for new MovieLink integration and the the addition of Component video out, coax and optical digital audio outputs, 3x USB 2.0 ports, and slew of performance improvements affecting video quality, on-screen menus, and controls wouldn't you say? Hello, subscribers... is anyone still there?[Thanks, Aaron]

Its the best way for the sellers of Set top boxes and online movie stores to get any traction and in the lounge room.
Now a tired subscription is needed .
Like 10 movies a month for a set price .
Starz Vongo has already paid for the rights (1 Billion Dollarz) for offering unlimited subscriptions until 2010.

Note to current MCE 2005 and future Vista Professional and Ultimate edition owners. Both Akimbo and Movielink services are available through the MCE Online Spotlight already. I wonder if this is why they are pretty much just giving away the free upgrade to existing Akimbo stand alone player owners. Well anyway if you were considering getting the stand alone player, you may want to hold out for versions of Vista I already mentioned.
