Just in case you didn't get your fill of tall-ass monolithic 2001-lookin' portable audio device docks, Philips has a new cop on the beat: the not-yet-announced Docking Enterainment System DCM270. Besides playing CDs and docking your GoGear (or wait -- is that a YP-K3?), it'll even play nice with your iPod, something Apple's decidedly punier Hi-Fi can't attest to. More on it soon.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say I'm pretty damn excited. I'm one of the few (perhaps the only) that have the HDD6330/37 Go Gear player and I'm glad that there is a stylish, functional speaker/docking system for my favorite hard drive player. Like a lot of people who latch on to a playsforsure device, I thought the Philips had a chance of attracting a dedicated following, but lack of promotion by Philips, the major retailers, and those that are perpetually under the Steve Jobs Reality Distortion Field have made this another also-ran. Oh Well. You would be suprised how many people, at an airport for example, are suprised to see an elegent looking player like the HDD6330 - frankly they're suprised that other manufactures make MP3 players - Didn't apple invent those along with music, the wheel, and fire?:) Oh well, I hope that I can get my hands on this for my favorite player and new place I'm getting...
Tyler your not alone. I've been searching for a speaker dock for my gogear for ages and nothing, but this looks interesting, stylish and as if it could pump out soome sound. Let's just hope they don't take the P**s with the price just because they have a monopoly over the two of us who own a go gear HDD 6330/37. I'm still suprised by the amount of bad press it receives. Its a good allround device with a huge memory for a decent price.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
WOW! A drinks dispenser at the bottom as well?!? they are really spoiling us!
The competition has finally succumbed to... the competition.
Dang, i wish they would turn that console/doc stuff around to the back. It would make a sweet all-in-one dj rig.
