Good Vibrations shoes pack built-in rumble feature
Now that you're packing a cellphone with a vibrating touchscreen, have glasses that rattle your brain if you try to get a bit of shut-eye, and nod your head to the beat of your rumbling headphones, why not put a little shake in your shoes, too? The cleverly named Good Vibrations might sport a website that was probably built in Marky Mark's heyday, but the kicks it sells claim to be therapeutic in nature. The thick-soled shoes feature a non-stick grip, on / off switch, and a rechargeable battery that reportedly provides around five hours of feet shakin' therapy. Designed to massage away the aches and pains throughout the day rather than after the damage is done, these unisex slip-ons are constructed with Spandex, lined with suede, and just might cause fits of laughter if you're the ticklish type. The Good Vibrations shoes are strangely available in just four sizes, leaving most of you with a bit too much (or too little) room inside, but for just about 60 bucks, the fun factor here is probably enough to put aside the fact that they aren't likely to fit.[Via AmericanInventorSpot]

Tim Burns @ Feb 16th 2007 12:20AM
Non-stick grip, huh? Freaky.

Haha...I was going to say what Tim said. I don't want non-stick soles on my shoes. What are they made of, teflon or something?

It would be cool to have a heating element implemented in the shoes, and have it triggered by low temperatures.
Vibrations are just plain useless though.

Maybe they should get in touch with Sony!

Advise!! If you get a pair dont wear it on a plane. U might get mistaken for a shoe bomber.

You know, this would be really cool (being someone who suffers from sore feet a lot), but knowing my luck...
Small, Medium and Large? What the heck kind of sizes are those?!

Good Vibrations (the dildo company) could probably claim trademark infringement for that, honestly.
Granted, it would suck if they did. But they could.

Certain studies have shown that vibrating shoes keep elderly and diabetic people, who often lose some amount of sensation in their feet, in MUCH better balance. If I remember correctly, the clinical studies were done with piezo-electric vibrations so this may not apply, but the idea is that with some level of "white noise" to keep the nerves in the feet actively transmitting, the subtle differences in pressure related to balance are much easier to detect.
If you've got problems with loss of sensation in your feet, something like this could potentially save you from a broken arm or hip.

Vibrating shoes... for the realistic walking experience. Pretty soon we'll all be walking around with our "realistic" virbrating shoes and doing our everyday tasks with 3d-VR glasses projecting life-like visuals. We will hear with our noise canceling dolby digital 20.1 surround sound mic and headphone combo.
All so much better than reality.
