ASUS' OCgear 8600 GT graphics dials-in the overclocking
Turn that GPU up to 11 son, ASUS is prepped to unveil their OCgear overclocking kit at Computex next week. The new 8600 GT card slips into a 5.25-inch PC drive bay for a quick twiddle of your GPU speed -- just like their external XG Station for laptops. It also provides adjustment to the fan speed and system volume (somehow) while displaying the GPU temperature and FPS. Best of all, it has enough flashing lights to safeguard your virginity well into the foreseeable future.

"Best of all, it has enough flashing lights to safeguard your virginity well into the foreseeable future."
You, sir, win the Internet!
human virginity maybe, pshh, sooo 20th century thinking, the sweet tender embrace of the cold steel bosom of a zubikanus and the soothing voice of a totally not loser counter strike player as he shouts "die ni**er!" is all i need to get off.
Agreed.
Excellent flail to the pure.
Kudos!
I'm sold!
Why?
Once you've found your highest clock speeds, you set 'em, and forget 'em. Only a complete tool would want to turn them down!
Even at load, there's only like 12* between a stock and OC'ed card.
@Pedro
"but sir, the TPS report really did take seven hours to complete..."
When is the XG station coming!!!!!!!
Pedro; as a physicist I can tell you that for every 10* you increase a semiconductor by, you half it's lifespan. That 12*C over stock will probabbly reduce your cards life by 55-60% -possibly more depending upon any small GPU transistor defects.
When there are so many automated overclocking solutions that will overclock your card only when you need it, there really is no good reason to running permanently overclocked!
People who are really into overclocking simply do not care about card lifespan. By the time the card burns out it is already time to buy a new one. So why tell them to not use their card to its full potential?
It's entirely false to say that everyone who overclocks their card disregards lifespan. I overclock my card heavily -but only when gaming. The rest of the time it runs underclocked because the horsepower is simply redundant. I use the card to it's full potential AND achieve the best life possible when doing so.
looks nice with that FPS display .cool showoff!! :)
Wait.. sooooo does this thing itself have a card in it.. oooorrrr.. does it OC the pci-e card.....:S
