Maybe the USA site should show some new Dell computers on a crime scene autopsy table ala CSI. We Americans don't go for that sexual thing, you know its very bad for you and you might go blind looking at such things. Just give us some good ole violence and bloodshed, we love watching that on tv... wait a minute, let me get my kids so they can watch. Just make sure their aren't any partially clothed women, I don't want my kids to see that.
I love living in Korea. Tech and tech marketing at it's finest. To be honest, they market everything like that, though. If you go to any major supermarket on the weekends...you'll see girls wearing mini-skirts and similarly branded (cheerleader-style) tops for kellogg's cereal Maxwell House coffee trying to get you to sample the goods.
New businesses that open up (and can afford it) usually hire dancing girls to dance on the curb in front of their business.
Someone in Korea back me up on this one...can I get an "Amen"?
It seems they removed the link from the article. Looking at the source for this page the link itself is still there but the text to click for the link went away.
Exploitation in Japan and Korea don't seem to be much of an issue. Walk down a street in Akihabara and all you'll see in front of stores are very attractive girls in tight "racer" outfits. Well that and all the geeks.
Promotion like that in the US would give Dell an almost sleazy image, not the clean business image they want to portray.
Applying Korean marketing to the US launch might help increase their marketshare . Don't think anything less would convince me to get something like Dell .
adam, I believe JC meant it as a joke when he said NORTH Korea, not the pictures from South Korea. You know: Dictatorship, Kim Jong Il. Re:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Korea
so all in all, Adam good job killing where JC was going with it XD
If Dell did the sexy chick launch here in the States, they would be pounded by feminist groups and the press for "female exploitation." Too bad they don't see it as "male manipulation."
Dem! Malaysia should really buck up! East asian country do tend to have dancing gals got openning/launching events. If you are one of the VIPs you will often get ascorted by them in those events.
I think this promotion backfired terribly. My urge to buy a Dell was instantly overshadowed by my urge to masturbate. By the time I was done, I forgot what I was doing. Soon as I go back to the computer, the cycle repeats itself.

That's right, violence is the way of the American Christian! Down with sexual expression!

The link to the US launch is a 404 which says a lot really. In my opinion I'd sooner buy a Korean one, specially if one of the ladies delivered it.
purezerg @ Jun 28th 2007 12:42AM
i'll forgo the delivery charges. I'll go pick it up personally.

In regards to the US ad.. that is what happens when you allow femini-Nazi-ists to run your country...
Smoke_Dawg_187 @ Jun 28th 2007 1:07AM
Those Korean girls are beautiful.
gaunt773 @ Jun 28th 2007 1:23AM

that girl in the middle has a giant rack... awesome!

Supermarkets also play really annoying dance music on the weekends. Terrible for hangovers!
I did like the dancing girls at newly opened stores.
pushlatency @ Jun 28th 2007 1:40AM
Okay, so we've got computers...and racks.
Wait, where's the difference?

I appreciate that our country was founded on the belief that the Catholic Church wasn't restrictive enough. Yay Puritans! Yay shame in your body!
