Although we knew that Japan would be getting a new pair of
pastel-ed Xbox 360 controllers, there's good news for those camped out in America, too. Starting today, US consumers can snatch up each of the colored controllers for $49.99 apiece, which are indeed of the wireless variety. Thankfully, this blue looks a tad more masculine than the prior version we saw, and if you're still in doubt, check out a few more angles after the jump.

Cos a blue and pink controler would look great in the lounge?
Z @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:18PM
Finally a controller to go with people who wear pink ties...
Dylan K @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:24PM
I'm not exactly expecting these to be the hot items of the year. :\ Dull colors IMO.
Sy @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:25PM
Nice going Microsoft. You have alienated all the girl gamers by dumbing down them with colors and turned off all the male gamers in one shot.
Lt_Ladle @ Oct 3rd 2007 12:06AM
as a straight male, i think id actually enjoy playing with tje pink one given a choice. Adds a little BA imo ;)

i think the standard 'whiteys' are fine myself.
but then some people like a little color in their lives...
Tim Ficke @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:44PM
Actually i like the white most because its the same color as the xbox
Zer0beaT @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:49PM
My girlfriend likes the pink one alot. Some women (she's 25) actually like "girly" things go figure!
Zer0beaT @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:53PM
My girlfriend likes the pink one a whole lot. I guess some females actually like girly things. She's 25 btw.
Shibathedog @ Oct 2nd 2007 9:54PM
...of all the random ass colors
kneeyogi @ Oct 2nd 2007 10:02PM
I think this makes perfect sense.
Unlike adults who prefer "clean" colors like white/black/silver, kids (think pre-teen) would probably prefer "fun" colors like blue/pink/orange/green.
Why this is any different from having 6 different colors of N64s and GCs is beyond me.

Have you forgotten where you are? Here at Engadget, one must only have pure hate for Microsoft.

Just when you thought it couldn't get uglier then those Halo 3 controllers...
HenDawg58 @ Oct 2nd 2007 10:08PM
Why did they release these lame colors? Also the Halo Special Edition controllers with the pictures all over them are ugly, too. I want to know when I can get my hands on 2 of those olive green controllers that came with the Halo Edition XBox360!
Michael La Framboise @ Oct 2nd 2007 10:17PM
Theres a bunch of those green ones on eBay - try your luck there; they usually go for 80-100 bucks from what I've seen.
HenDawg58 @ Oct 2nd 2007 10:43PM
Thanks. I had looked on there a few weeks ago but never thought about looking again.
I wonder if Microsoft is planning on selling them separately. I guess I will just buy one from ebay now.
oshean @ Oct 2nd 2007 11:58PM
Pink when I turn out the light.
Blech @ Oct 3rd 2007 8:32AM
Blech.

In the words of alan partridge "Flatley my dear, I don't Riverdance... give a damn"
The ZeroCorpse @ Oct 3rd 2007 10:48PM
So now they have:
White
Black
Olive Drab (Halo 3)
Blue
Pastel Pink
Yellow (Extremely limited Simpsons edition)
And yet they're still way overpriced.
Don't get me wrong. I love my 360, but I absolutely hate that MS has made the wireless tech in-house only, and have killed the third-party controller market. No competition means the price will ALWAYS be high, and that plain sucks.
I know. I can get a cheapass wired controller, but who wants wired these days?
