Key Digital offering Matrix Switching over CAT5 solutions

We already knew Key Digital had distribution of HDMI over Ethernet down pat, but now the firm is expanding its offerings with a few new Matrix Switching over CAT5 solutions. The KD-MSV8X8-CAT5 Bundle includes a KD-MSV8X8 Video Matrix Switcher (pictured), a KD-CAT5XRCA CAT5 video / audio balun and KD-CAT5PANEL rack mount for piping loads of HD content to various sources over tried and true CAT5 cabling. There's definitely a good bit more where this came from, so if you're scouting the full (and we mean full) release, head on past the break.



A rack mountable bundle consisting of a KD-MSW8X4Pro or KD-MSV8X8 switchers, KD-CAT5PANEL rack mount, together with KD-CAT5XRCA or KD-CAT5XBNC's provide a single unit for any switching application.

The switchers can be configured up to sixty four outputs and sixteen inputs taking on the biggest projects with further lengths using standard CAT5 cabling.

KD-MSV8X8 is a Video Matrix Switcher capable of switching up to 8 Component Video Sources/Inputs to 8 independent Zones/Outputs

KD-MSW8X4Pro is a Video/Audio Matrix Switcher capable of switching up to 8 RGBHV/ Component Video Sources/Inputs to 4 Zones/Outputs with Analog Audio Volume Control

The FatCAT Series™ devices will convert analog video and analog or digital audio sources for transmission over CAT5 and CAT6 wire. Each FatCAT Series™ device will act as either a transmitting or receiving unit.

  • KD-CAT5XRCA is a Video/Audio Balun with RCA and CAT5 connections

  • KD-CAT5XBNC is a Video/Audio Balun with BNC and CAT5 connections

The FatCAT Series™ is incredibly flexible in its possible uses. The following signals are all supported on any FatCAT port, regardless of the silk screened labels on the case.

  • Component VideoPCM Digital Audio

  • Analog Audio Signals (line level)

  • H and V Sync Signals

  • Composite Video Signals

  • Any YPbPr Signal (whatever the sync configuration may be)

  • RGB with Composite Sync (four coaxial line)
