Conceptual Crystal LED wristwatch is all kinds of gorgeous
For as many patently awful watch designs as we see, this here device has given us a newfound appreciation for timepieces. Yes, the Ilya Yakovlev-designed Real Crystal LED Watch is merely a concept at the moment, but creating such a device with crystals and LEDs is entirely plausible. If ripped into the realm of reality (pretty please?), wearers would be allowed to "increase the luminosity and change colors to suit [their] mood." We're just going to hope the question isn't if we'll see this one day, but when.

Don't bother buying one.
When humanity is overthrown by the machines - we will all get one free. It will have accurate time, and our serial #.
GreezyG @ Apr 9th 2008 10:36PM
Although I would welcome our bracelet bearing overloards!
Anthony H. @ Apr 9th 2008 10:19PM
Looks sexy.

Thanks for spamming us with a random website
Jordan @ Apr 10th 2008 1:38AM
lol, stupid me... it's not a completely random website.

I don't like it.
This is too non-futuristic/sporty for my taste.
Those numbers should look really nice in the dark, though
DarkLightConnection Unbanned @ Apr 9th 2008 10:34PM
I mean, non-futuristic and non-sporty
GreezyG @ Apr 9th 2008 10:33PM
do not want!!!
Demo @ Apr 9th 2008 10:35PM
I like it, but I probably wouldn't actually wear it.
Paulmichael @ Apr 9th 2008 10:37PM
Wow, why so many negative comments? I actually like its look, it stands out because it has such a uniquely simple look to it, and goes back to the basics of a watch simply telling the time.
DarkLightConnection Unbanned @ Apr 9th 2008 10:44PM
Yeah, because crystals with color-changing LEDs on them is "the basics of simply telling the time".
And IMO, it looks more like it's for women... I'd never wear it

Paulmichael @ Apr 10th 2008 12:57AM
By basics I meant as in a watch that does nothing but tell you the current time. If it were available in black or something I could see it as unisex, but yeah in this white color it looks more for women. And the color-changing feature doesn't really seem tacked on, just kinda cool.
LazyMegaMan @ Apr 9th 2008 10:41PM
Make it in black and I am SOLD. And I usually turn down watches since my blackberry is my life's timekeeper, but this just screams small and amazing.
ugg.tryptophan @ Apr 10th 2008 3:12AM
the watch looks nice, but i tend to stay away from screaming gadgets
antiver @ Apr 9th 2008 11:00PM
Why hasn't anyone mentioned that its white?
Mark Hampton @ Apr 9th 2008 11:22PM
It looks like a fabric watch band -- I'm all for that. I hate metal and leather(ette) bands. But, cleaning / de-smelling could be a problem. I'm all for the black though.
kei @ Apr 10th 2008 12:05AM
I agree that a black one would be nice. A brown one would give a leather-looking to it so it may be even better.
macserv @ Apr 9th 2008 11:31PM
This doesn't look like the crystals are emitting any light... using LEDs would create an entirely different effect that wouldn't look like this at all.
Instead, this looks like the crystals are simply changing color from clear to ruby red. Is that even possible?
crashr @ Apr 10th 2008 12:24AM
I think I liked this better the first time I saw it (circa 2004), and, oh yeah, can actually buy one:

Jordan @ Apr 10th 2008 1:38AM
That ones not as cool imo. But I wouldn't get this one unless it comes in black. White is too feminine in this instance for me.
Ant @ Apr 10th 2008 3:42AM
yeah I was gonna make the same comment....and I have this watch. I get compliments on it almost everyday
and its designed by Philippe Starck
Darwin @ Apr 10th 2008 12:58AM
I would wear one... while drinking my Zima. *cough*
RCizzle65 @ Apr 10th 2008 1:39AM
Looks alright, but what happened to just looking at regular wrist watches?
Ubuntu 7.10 WindowsXP @ Apr 10th 2008 1:47AM
It is all kinds of ugly
rony @ Apr 10th 2008 5:52AM
hmm......maybe they could make it bigger and .....um.......I'm thinking of a neck collar....yeah......and leather......and spandex.......
gad get @ Apr 11th 2008 4:15AM
How about some kind of nose-ring watch? Or is that going too far?
JimReaper @ Apr 10th 2008 7:03AM
Conceptual Crystal LED wristwatch is all kinds of FUGLY
JBo @ Apr 10th 2008 8:08AM
Are they being ironic? It's hard to tell with these hipsters. That watch is fugly.
foxdude0486 @ Apr 10th 2008 9:05AM
If it wasn't so girly looking, I'd wear it. Does it come in black?
rdv @ Apr 10th 2008 9:11AM
Tag Heuer does it better.

Gorgeous might be a bit much and it's very feminine so I leave it as 'cute girl watch'.
iruka @ Apr 11th 2008 3:16AM
This looks cute! ^^
Jason @ Apr 12th 2008 3:33AM
I hope it does better than the 90's clear malt beverage...mmmm ZIMA
Evan @ Apr 12th 2008 5:48PM
