1) I'm sure this version will be 80GB/BC like the other MGS4 Bundle
in the US, not 40GB like the Japanese version.
2) Engadget should get TWO of these, one to do a giveaway with! Oh,

I have to say, it's been a while since I've seen that color on any electronic kit. But man, if that photo doesn't make me fall in love with gunmetal gray all over again.
Sony should've made that the original color.

It is very strange that the two best PS3 models were the launch editions. It's like no matter how cool they make the new models look, I can't help but think "why bother" when anybody who knows their biz could pop on eBay and buy superior models for less.
Have you SEEN eBay prices? A friend of mine wanted to get the 60 (or even a 20) because his PS2 died, but all the ones on eBay are ridiculously gouged. He'll end up getting the 80, but just can't afford the extra $100 at the moment. C'est la vie, eh? Life is full of those kinda choices; instant gratification vs price.

"standard 80GB PS3 / MGS4 bundle"
80GB = Backwards Compatible (software)
If I get this I'll trade it for a 60GB any day. (+ games)

I dig it. It's funny though how MS releases a gloss black version as a special edition of the elite, while Sony releases a matte version as a special edition. Guess the grass is always greener on the other side. :P

Oh I didn't realize we were on a 4-year gloss/matte cycle. If I recall, matte painted cars were popular around 2000 too, when it was called primer. I like my car paint glossy personally, not because I care how they look, but because they're a lot easier to clean.

The gunmetal LE PS3 should be the 40GB model, like the JP version. The standard MGS PS3 (white box) should be the 80GB model.

I must say, it does look nice. Much better looking than the glossy black.
I have to admit that the glossy black ps3 is a pain as is the psp for fingerprints.
