Logitech's put out a couple
PS3 driving wheels, but the new Driving Force Wireless is the company's first wireless driving controller for Sony's console. The 2.4GHz wheel features a one-piece design with an expandable lap rest so you don't need to clip it onto a table or desk, and there's the usual wheel-mounted d-pad and buttons. Should be out in August for a cool Benny.

I wonder if you run into walls when your mom answers the cordless phone...

Ah yes, DUI... Driving Under Interference.

@Rawlins
That comment is made of 24k gold. Thank you.
Demersynth @ Jul 15th 2008 4:58AM
Lmao, I registered just to comment on that. Well played sir, well played.
Cigol @ Jul 15th 2008 6:02AM
Finally. I wonder whether it's comparable to the G25.
Richardh @ Jul 15th 2008 6:08AM
Probably won't compare to the G25 no shifter :(
Basic @ Jul 15th 2008 9:41AM
G25 shifter was 2 buttons obscured by a stick... not a real shifter.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Jul 15th 2008 1:33PM
No shifter. No pedals either. It's not designed to compete with the G25.
why not the LS2LS7? @ Jul 15th 2008 1:34PM
Basic, the G25 has a six-position gate with physical reverse lockout. I have no idea what you're talking about ripping on it as not a real shifter.
Cigol @ Jul 15th 2008 7:36PM
Yeah, I realise it's not meant to compete with the G25, I'm just wondering whether the wireless technology will in some way inhibit them from implementing this in future models. Although the small form factor of the G25 is a plus point, the wires are still a major turn-off when deciding whether to play a game. Would be a match made in heaven if the could get it wireless without any tangible difference in quality.
I can dream anyway.
Cigol @ Jul 15th 2008 7:40PM
Basic is confused with the original Logitech MOMO wheels for which he'd be right in saying they merely had a shifter with two buttons (typically used for changing gears up and down). But the G25 has a pretty decent shifter in an affordable package (clutch + pedals, wheel + shifter) - so he'd be wrong in that case.

Also it seems that there are none of those big paddles we love in the MS xbox360 wheel.
Let's hope there are not just some small buttons for gears.
Ayman @ Jul 15th 2008 9:48AM
they are black, look carefully
why not the LS2LS7? @ Jul 15th 2008 1:37PM
The gear shifting buttons are visible on the front, the LT and RT buttons by the rim of the wheel. The levers behind are the gas and brake.
Ugh. The 360 wheel is crap. I dare not even speak it's name. The biggest disappointment in recent memory.
Basic @ Jul 15th 2008 9:39AM
Is it non-standard signal or Bluetooth HID?
Crzypdilly @ Jul 15th 2008 10:03AM
Of course... another peripheral that does not utilize the PS3's Bluetooth.
edpsx @ Jul 15th 2008 10:08AM
Built-in gas and brake controls: Puts precise, fast action within easy reach.
No pedals and no 900 degree steering BLAH!
dan2600 @ Jul 15th 2008 11:24AM
I had the old Logitech wheel for the PS2 for about a week before i returned it because with out 900 degree rotation it just feels like a huge joystick. There is no point of dropping 100+ dollars on a wheel that turns 90 degrees
NxP3 @ Jul 15th 2008 1:22PM
I'm not getting it if it's not blutooth...tired of all these third party coming out with their own wireless.
