SIM2 delivers $5,000 1080p DOMINO D60 DLP projector
SIM2's DOMINO line -- okay, SIM2's entire line -- isn't known for being the cheapest bunch. The new DOMINO D60, however, is actually affordable by said company's standards, checking in at just 4,995 US dollars. This 1080p beamer is based on Texas Instruments' DarkChip3 0.95-inch DMD chipset and includes a single-chip DLP projection system, BrilliantColor, three different preset modes (Cinema, Dynamic, and Standard) and three user-customizable memories. It's shipping now for those with fat wallets.

Maybe $5,000 is affordable by the company standards, but to me $5,000... I'd rather buy latest-generation PC + 40-50inch plasma with HD-Ready resolution....
But thats just me ;)

Yeah, she's giving you that look because you pay for porn.

I'd rather spend the money on this than the laser etcher thingy you guys had before. Nothing better than a 300" projector in my own home.. Bring the price down even more and we'll talk.

I'd rather get a slim projector. http://www.slimprojector.com

The price isn't so bad when you compare it to a 100" Plasma TV.

$5k isn't all that bad for a projector. However, it's Darkchip 3 instead of 4 so the contrast ratio isn't as good as it could be. The Infocus IN83 will be a better buy. By the way, for those who say "for $5000 I'd rather buy x" keep in mind you'll still be spending $5000, so that's your preference if you want to spend it on something else. For those in the market for something like this, $5k is the price for an almost top range consumer projector.
