WowWee's Femisapien gets reviewed, does want to play forever and ever
If you've been on the fence about whether or not you want to spring for a WowWee Femisapien, perhaps a thorough, multi-page review would help. If you truck on over to robotsrule, you'll find an ultra-in-depth look at the female automaton, with explorations into the bot's interface, modes and behaviors, and a variety of other Femisapien idiosyncrasies. The conclusion? We'd have to say the reviewer is pretty much in full gush-mode over the new toy, calling it a "blockbuster hit" that's "destined to take over the world." We assume by "take over the world" they mean "obliterate humanity."

Shouldn't they focus on developing the technology for mainstream use before worrying about what gender it is?
Lowest Ranked @ Jul 30th 2008 11:51AM
No.
That being said, I could totally see this speaking with GLaDOS's voice.
Rick White @ Jul 30th 2008 11:56AM
And right there you have convinced me. Moar fembots!
phanbouy @ Jul 30th 2008 11:58AM

Lowest Ranked @ Jul 30th 2008 12:17PM
Oh look, phan!
You've caused him to go back in time 1 minute to say it again.
Chuckles McGee @ Jul 30th 2008 9:48PM
Oh dear god, they've made the queen.
Mach @ Jul 30th 2008 11:50AM
Make one thats full size and does my laundry, then I'll buy one
andres @ Jul 30th 2008 1:06PM

johnzilla @ Jul 30th 2008 1:50PM
Wait, you end up with a full-size fembot and your first command is "do my laundry"? Talk about a fetish.....
Karl Hackswell @ Jul 30th 2008 11:55AM
...and can cook too!!
mlody11 @ Jul 30th 2008 11:55AM
I for one,... ah forget it, no one reads these comments anyway...
/me walks away
phanbouy @ Jul 30th 2008 11:55AM
she doesn't need a motorcycle helmet either
Kris @ Jul 30th 2008 12:10PM
If what you say is correct then you only posted your comment in hopes of getting a high rank. FAIL
Ghen @ Jul 30th 2008 1:43PM
good choice.
Hammond X @ Jul 31st 2008 10:32PM
Clearly, enough people read them to low rank you. Keep walking.
Kris @ Jul 30th 2008 12:11PM
I FUCKING HATE ENGADGET'S FUCKING COMMENTING FUCKING SYSTEM!
I swear to God why can't they get this shit right? I REPLIED to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON and what happens? It puts my reply UNDER SOMEONE ELSE.
Ugh
phanbouy @ Jul 30th 2008 12:12PM
wow, you found me out kris. i don't comment because i like it but because i'm secretly hoping you'll uprank me so i can go update my excel spreadsheet of all my high ranked comments and then come back here and brag so that you, kris, the high priest and judge of all that is worthy, will give me the validation i so crave.
phanbouy @ Jul 30th 2008 12:13PM
lol! your retraction was not in time. well that was fun anyway. cheers mate
NHAnimator @ Jul 30th 2008 12:13PM
They're called Valium. Here, try one.
Hammond X @ Jul 31st 2008 10:55PM
@ Kris-My reply, which was to Mlody11, was also mis-directed. Sorry I doubted you. I'm going to start using @ even when I'm replying. At least until Engadget gets their shit together. I'm going to cut & paste "replying to phanbouy" from just above my "comments" box, just so I know I didn't get this one wrong.
Hammond X @ Jul 31st 2008 11:06PM
The same thing just happened to me. My reply was @ mlody11, and it ended up under phan. Engadget, get your shit together.
Jin @ Jul 30th 2008 11:57AM
perverts beware...
god i hope there aren't any "holes" in this one
and the movie "AI" comes to mind
andres @ Jul 30th 2008 1:07PM
i cried so hard to that movie.
Ghen @ Jul 30th 2008 1:44PM
I'm sure a few owners will get creative.
neofolklore @ Jul 31st 2008 8:33AM
no holes? oh I will make this my Chobit so fast. mod the on/off switch to be in her vagina just like in the anime.
ackthbbft @ Jul 30th 2008 11:59AM
"...an ultra-in-depth look at the female automaton, with explorations into the bot's interface..."
Is it a review or robopr0n?
phanbouy @ Jul 30th 2008 12:03PM

Zak @ Jul 30th 2008 12:03PM

phanbouy @ Jul 30th 2008 12:20PM
femisapien...name's a bit of a misnomer, isn't it? i mean, it's really neither homosapien nor actually female other than having a bust line.
phanbouy @ Jul 30th 2008 12:23PM
where's that clown anonymoose, by the way? must be showing off his polish prowess elsewhere
Wicker24 @ Jul 30th 2008 12:33PM

I'm waiting for the first person to hack into, and reprogram it to talk like a real woman.
IE: Bitchy, whiny, over-emotional, illogical, and self-centered.
phanbouy @ Jul 30th 2008 12:28PM
shh!!! we're already at a record low female participation here

Yes, this may anger them and attract them.
We don't want that.
Seriously.
Biotch @ Jul 30th 2008 1:24PM
Oh, and men are sooooo much better?
Jin @ Jul 30th 2008 7:58PM
yes
SuperDre @ Jul 30th 2008 12:29PM
Hmm.. to me it seems it still is nothing really more than the original robosapien, in that it still can't do anything really by itself. It's time wowwee starts to enhance the little buggers with some more intelligence.
It still isn't as intelligent as for instance the old i-cybie (which wasn't really intelligent either, but at least it looked like it had more intelligence), also the handgesture isn't that special, the i-cybie had clapping and remote.. The only problem with the i-cybie is that it has very flacky gears which tend to snap easily which makes the dog non-functional..
michas_pi @ Jul 30th 2008 12:34PM
I want her.
And when persocoms are finally a reality, I want one, too.
Bishounen @ Jul 30th 2008 12:34PM
As an interesting side-note, how long do you guys predict before the first pictures of "Bukakke-Femisapien" to appear on a *chan?
(Yes, gross, I know. But if you don't think interest in that is out there you are sorely naive.)
