Progress is beautiful, is it not? Just shy of two years ago, Corsair blew minds with its ruggedized
16GB Flash Voyager, built to withstand all but the nastiest of drops and hold oodles of quarterly reports for a mere $299. Earlier this year, we saw the
capacity double up and the price fall to just $229. Now, the bootable drive has been bloated further with a full 64GB of space, only this one's available right now for just a buck ninety-nine. Dollars to donuts we'll see a 128GB version in under 12 months for around $150, but don't let that sway your purchasing decision or anything.

somedude @ Oct 1st 2008 8:14AM
And by the time you finish writing to it, they'll have the 5GB model out.
ijyt @ Oct 1st 2008 8:43AM
He said 1TB not 1GB.

That shape is darn suggestive.
Darth Lord @ Oct 1st 2008 7:45AM
Perhaps they are giving suggestions for possible hiding spots? not that there is anything wrong with it
erm87 @ Oct 1st 2008 8:33AM
it looks more like a hot dog & bun.
my favorite move.
Kajje @ Oct 1st 2008 10:40AM

Is the length of the stick increased or is it just me? I had the 1GB version, but this thing looks much longer...
Luke D @ Oct 1st 2008 8:57AM
"Is the length of the stick increased or is it just me? I had the ..., but this thing looks much longer..."
That's what she said.
ChimericDream @ Oct 1st 2008 12:30PM
Maybe there is something to be said for responding to all that spam.

iEye @ Oct 1st 2008 8:14AM
Great! now I can consolidate all my Pron drives into one huge collection...
;D
Kurian @ Oct 1st 2008 9:01AM
You must have a very small harddick. I mean harddisk.
Luke D @ Oct 1st 2008 10:00AM
I think he's implying his having solid state dic... I mean, disks. Why do or would you use flash drives for storing that kind of 'data?'
Brad @ Oct 1st 2008 8:17AM
Man, if they can put all that into a jump drive for 199, why can't Apple scrap the iPod classic and put flash in there? And make a 64 GB iPod touch. Once the touch crosses the 64 GB mark, then they will have my money...
Kurian @ Oct 1st 2008 8:19AM
These things, especially the GT versions are faster than most people's harddives.
Wayne @ Oct 1st 2008 10:07AM
Have you tried the 16GB GT? It's incredibly slow since they've changed to MLC
Ryan @ Oct 1st 2008 8:21AM
it looks like dick
Harry Wagstaff @ Oct 1st 2008 9:28AM
Thanks for clearing up all the 'suggestive shape' comments, I was getting confused.

kingston 8G around $20 and corsair(?) 16G $25 after 25 MIR from newegg, good enough for me for now.
Tom @ Oct 1st 2008 10:49AM
are you kidding me? Transcend's 64GB were released a month ago
nxp3 @ Oct 1st 2008 10:52AM
I like the size and the price, but why does it have to be so ugly. And can't they make a usb memory stick that has a retractible cap. Need to spend a little money on the case...that is fugly.
Harkonian @ Oct 1st 2008 11:05AM
USB drives have finally become large enough and cheap enough that they can be used as bootable OSs. Now, if only it were straightforward to make OSs bootable on USB drives...
If anyone has good info for creating USB bootable Vista, XP, OSX, Linux, etc. I would appreciate it.

So big, it has its own flash drive on a chain.
adelossa @ Oct 1st 2008 1:03PM
And yet you can still lose the cap.
ssrat_ @ Oct 1st 2008 3:10PM
Harkonian: I have the 16G and I want to do that, a SINGLE Boot I think you can just copy over not sure.
I need a step by step for a USB with
Multiple OS (winall + linux)
Apps (repair programs + office and other "normal" stuff)
Virus scanner (run from and install)
I have Quick menu builder but I must be stupid since I can seem to figure it out
wickedpheonix @ Oct 1st 2008 5:18PM

Kaeruyaki @ Oct 2nd 2008 12:09AM
