Motorola Krave ZN4 officially launches on Verizon for $149.99
Color us as unsurprised as ever, but Motorola's unique, if not fancy, Krave ZN4 just got official. The touchscreen-based flip phone is launching today on Verizon Wireless, bringing with it two layers of touch -- one on the interactive clear flip outside and another with the full 2.8-inch touchscreen inside. You'll also find support for V CAST Mobile TV, V CAST Video, V CAST Music with Rhapsody and VZ Navigator, not to mention the 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, HTML browser and visual voicemail capabilities. It's in stores today for a buck fifty after signing away your cellular soul for two years and waiting ages for a $50 mail-in rebate to arrive in your mailbox.

Meh
Meh indeed.
what is the point of the "interactive clear touch" casing again?
So you can do things with your phone while it's in your pocket?
i have bought 4 phones from Verizon and never have waited for rebate very long. we do a lot of rebates and refunds and they have always been timely. quite fast actually. all 4 times.
You would say that if you worked there...why would you give verizon a bad rep?
i went to the local verizon store to see this thing today. it was very "quirky" there is a different menu when the glass is closed and when it is open. like the lg touch touch screens it took a few touches before the item would click. the look is pretty neat but the usefulness is not that great.
the visual voicemail took awhile to load also.
Motorola needs a radical change.
"waiting ages for a $50 rebate"? actually when i got my blackberry curve i sent the rebate stuff and in less than 3 weeks i had a check. thats not ages my friend.
Engadget in a nutshell...
Always with the negative waves Moriarty, always with the negative waves
Are those vowels?
I like the design. Like your average touch screen mobile but with more ergonomic calling. I also like the way the clear flip bit protects the screen without cutting down on usability and quick access.
However, I also liked the Motorola Z8 "banana phone" sliders design, but the implementation sucked sooo badly it was practically unusable, so I wont get my hopes up.
Quick question for you Verizon Guru's....
I have an American Choice II plan, will this phone require me to switch to a nationwide plan?
I know so far, the Glyde, Dare, and Voyager all require you to switch to a current nationwide plan, so does anyone know?
As a verizon salesperson, I can tell you that all Verizon plans are now nationwide, you plan doesn't exist anymore, so no matter what, you must switch.
Unless you want to pay full retail price for the phone.
Yes, this phone will require the new nationwide plan .
It looks like a fancier, better built MING (A1200)
Just picked this phone up. I have to say its quite nice as far as dumphones go. My only major complaint so far is that touching through the outer plastic is not very accurate so it's a little difficult to get around with it closed. The camera is nice and the speaker is pretty loud. Texting with the qwerty is beyond inconvenient, but I suppose I'll get used to it. Call quality has been good so far but I live pretty close to a tower, so when I get farther from town I'll be able to really test it. Overall it's a pretty good phone though, I'm really liking it.
i might get this
dude that is so cool i want to get this for cristmas so bad!!
I can't wait to say, "Beam me up Scotty," into this thing while eyeballing a hot ensign in a blue dress.... but I'd most probably say this:

As an owner of 2 Motorola A1200 "MING" phones (mine and wife's), I'm not all that impressed. Why do they call it a unique design when Motorola has it in 3 other phones: A1200, A1600, A1800?
i just bought mine 2day nd i love it !
My biggest complaint is that I cannot place my voicemail, text msgs, and other alerts on vibrate only leaving my calls still able to come in using a ringtone.
