wavebird is still better
yeaa but the wavebird didnt have rumble, a missin feature i want, thou it was wireless and better then this. i think i would miss the rumble, i wouldnt buy this shit thou i have a GC controller

Hold on hold on hold on. This is a separate controller? As opposed to a shell for the regular classic controller, making use of those fancy slots in the back that were put there for this very reason? Come ON. I mean yeah it looks cool and yeah I'll buy one, but damn. It better at least have rumble. Hell, and an accelerometer. And come packaged with the Starfox Wii game of my dreams.
From the Picture it looks exactly like it is a clip on shell.
It would appear that way, and that's what I thought (hoped) at first, except that the Z1 and Z2 buttons have actually been moved from where they were on the top (used to be little nubs next to the other shoulder buttons), and the wire is now coming out of the top. You can click through to the Japanese site to compare.

Yes you are correct, I have just noticed that. Strange as there seems to be a clear join between the normal shape of the classic controller and new trigger buttons.

The upper L/R buttons are CLEARLY cutting into the top casing, ABOVE the joint line!

Yes, and the cord is coming out between the joint. It is NOT a clip on shell.

The PS3 controller has not really changed since the PS1 analogue controller which itself was an evolution of the original PS1 controller. The original PS1 controller ripped off the button layout of the snes controller.

yeah, but the difference between the SNES and PS1 controllers was greater (it added 2 more shoulder buttons and hand grips) than the difference between this controller and the PS1 analog. The PS1 analog controller is timeless.
looks like it might be a bit better than the current one, but it is ugly as sin.
It looks like a clip on shell except for the Z buttons being moved to a more L2/R2 position, and the cord being moved to the top of the controller instead of the bottom of the existing one. Plus they dropped the release for the clip in the process of moving the cord, so unless they moved the release down below, looks like Nintendo gave up on the clip.
I suppose it makes sense. Since when has there been a Nintendo home console in the US that didn't have some kind of unused expansion port? Sure, this isn't on the console, but its as close as we are going to get.
Come on Nintendo, why can't it be wireless like the Wavebird?
It is sort of wireless as it plugs into the wiimote. Not ideal but certainly better than trailing wires across the floor.

It does look just like the Playstation dual-shock controller, however, since that design was based off of Nintendo's previous controllers, Nintendo ripped off themselves; if people wish to debate over who ripped off who’s design.
Finally! PS1/2 games for the Virtual Console!
Oy, why did they have to go with flat-edged, chunky grips? That's the one aspect I seriously dislike about the Dualshock. It's just never felt comfortable in my hands.
Now all we need are PS2 games in the Wii shop channel.
I'm so glad I purchased four classic controllers now...
Nintendo has enraged me. It's best if I go elsewhere now.
