Samsung X360 ultraportable dips below $800 mark
Samsung's ultrathin X360 didn't quite get the love of some of its competition out of the gate, and has already been preempted by the X460, but the X360 has always had a lovable price tag on its side. Not like this, though. The originally $1900-ish laptop is now going for $750 after rebate on Amazon.com, and that includes 3GB of RAM and Vista Biz to boot. Sure, the 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo SU9300 and Intel integrated graphics never did anyone any favors, but at least this should shut up your non-productive Atom-powered bowling buddies. Or you could wait a month for every other ultraportable on earth to best this pricetag and netbook specs to catch up.

Uhhhhh....Price: $1,837.46
No rebate in sight...am I doing something wrong?
You have to add the item from the gold box section of amazon's site.
Well....sold out already! Wow...
Huh me too...
I hope they'll throw out a macbook air, to slice him like a cake.
AHAHAHAHA!!!!!\
dumb arse Samsung marketing exec Bi****es
Did they actually think they had a fighting chance against Apple's MBA?
People buy the Apple out of vanity not useability...
next time do your homework sumsang!
AHAHAH!!!
iLuver = obvious Mac FanBoy
U FAIL
wow, you're such a douche.
I hope one day you will be walking down the street and somebody's macbook falls on your head from the window, fatally killing you.
Not just killing you, but fatally killing you...
Fatally killing?
"People buy the Apple out of vanity not useability..."
and that's probably the reason why I've seen two macbook air in my life...
Slickdeals.net just showed a special on a Lenovo Thinkpad x61s for $551! Specs:
Lenovo X61s Ultraportable Laptop: Core 2 Duo L7500LV 1.6 GHz, 1GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, WiFi N, 8-Cell Battery, Vista Basic
Bah! Ultraportablr is 12" and under
Agreed!!!
Might be the lightest among 13" but much heavier than a real ultraportable(
What's so special that's coming out in a month?
This laptop is brilliant - it is the exact same model as what I am using right now. An absolute bargain and the spec is just fine for me - I basically use it for a bit of web design and word processing.

back to regular price.
what is this? 30 second sales????
Actually the deal was around for a good 10 hours before it was sold out, it just took awhile to get on Engadget.
My fiance was looking at this model and clicked "1 click buy" and it showed up for the sale price with the rebate!
Dumping prices already because of their massive fail in entering the US market.
UPDATE: SOLD OUT grrr should have posted this earlier
it's a good deal....but i need more pounds on the processor area... 1.2GHz doesn't cut it for me..is it too big to fit or what?
X360 FTW
X360 RRoD for the loss.
For that price, its an excellent deal especially compared to the higher end netbooks out there, of course this would sell out quickly at that price.
As people noted - Slickdeals.net and also Dealstop.com had this deal up early this morning. As a frequent Slick Dealer (SD'r) - I jumped on this and got one (around 9:30am Pacific time).
Don't beat down on Engadget for not posting earlier - Slick deals like this aren't what Engadget is all about.
For those that say this system is MUCH HEAVIER - it's only 2.8lbs! For me - that's pretty unbelievable for a 13.3" screen, Core Duo processor and 6 cell battery with 6-8 hours BATTERY LIFE! Heck - my Samsung NC10 netbook is about the same weight (with 3" smaller screen) - and will probably be sold now that I'm getting this beauty.
This systems well equipped with Bluetooth, 1.3M Webcam, HDMI port and lots of other goodies including 3GB (yes 3GB) of DDR3!!!
Also comes with Vista Business - but I plan on loading Windows 7 on this baby.
You are one lucky bastard.
Can't believe it had the same price tag as th HP Mini Note (the Vivienne Tam edition though)
