Canon PowerShot SX1 and company eyes-on

As with FujiFilm's latest bunch, we were quite shocked to see Canon's newest offering out and about in Hannover. Granted, most of the good one were caged under lock and key (yes, we're talking to you, elusive PowerShot SX1), but that didn't stop us from mashing our lens (and lips, we won't lie) up against the glass and pulling the shutter. You already know about the specs, now check out the skins and the European model names. Sassy.

The lens barrel says "Full HD" yet the specs you guys posted say 720p.

Full HD is 1080 lines at the very least (60 interlaced fields per second, 24/30 progressive frames per second, or 24p with a pulldown into 60F).

SX1 IS: 10 megapixels, 1080p movie mode, 20x wide-angle optical zoom, 2.8-inch LCD; coming April for about $600
SX200 IS: 12.1 megapixels, 720p movie mode, 12x optical zoom, 3-inch LCD; coming end of march for $350

is the sx1 taking the place of the sx10? I was thinking of purchasing a sx10 soon with a 150$ gift card I have from best buy but am now thinking of waiting so this brings the price down on it.

No its not... SX1 will be more money with a few more features like HD Video, CMOS sensor and RAW capability.
SX10 ~ $350
SX1~ $600 which will drop to $450 before christmas

The SX is already on display in Jessops (Westfield) in London, along with all their new point-and-shoots.
