Panasonic expands Lumix FS line: DMC-FS12, DMC-FS62 and DMC-FS42
We tell ya, that Panasonic FS line sure knows how to expand. Just months after we saw a few more added to the mix, the point-and-shoot Lumix family is growing yet again with three new members. Kicking things off is the 12.1 megapixel DMC-FS12, which boasts a 4x optical zoom, optical image stabilization, 2.7-inch LCD, a WVGA (848 x 480) movie mode and digital red-eye correction. The 10.1 megapixel DMC-FS62 packs most of the same features, though it does step down to a 2.5-inch LCD. Finishing up the trio is the DMC-FS42, a 10.1 megapixel shooter that does most everything the FS62 does save for the omission of optical image stabilization and a few other minor exclusions. The whole lot is expected to arrive soon in a variety of hues, though precise pricing and availability details are still missing.

I'm basically done with P&S cameras, but I like the leika lens on my video camera. Anybody know if the lens on here is decent?
do what i'll be doing, get a Panasonic LX-4 when they come out. The LX-3 had a f/2.0 wide angle lens equivilent to that found on the Laika cameras.
The reason not to go for the LX-3 right now is that well, they aren't being manufactured, and it's impossible to find htem new without it being $100 over MSRP. Just wait patiently and it'll be worth it.
damnit, Leica lens, i'm dumb.
Yeah, I misspelled it too. Oh well.
Are you serious? Are the lenses good? Do you know they're Leica? Do you know Leica to make crap lenses, or crap anything? I have a Panasonic Lumix from 05/06 and the lens is still good for most everything you'd want to do with a P&S.
Cool. Keeps the multi-aspect sensor and pretty fast lens, lacks 720p video and wide (
.. under 30mm) focal length.. but then, it's bound to be cheaper than the nicer compacts (ZS*, TX*, etc).
Note: no IS (image stabilization) on the FS42, according to the dpreview summary.
(thanks, html filter)
I'm hoping engadget gets a review unit of the Dust/Water/Shock proof DMC-TS1 soon. I dropped my last camera way to often.
Come on Panasonic, announce the LX4 already.
LX3 was a massive hit, a much improved LX3 is always welcome.
it looks so much like the 10 mega pixel ex-s10 exilm from casio
