Motorola's A4500 world phone caught in the FCC covered in Verizon tattoos
We don't have a formal unveiling for Motorola's Verizon-bound A4500 world phone just yet, but an operation manual and some snapshots of its dress rehearsal from the FCC should suffice in the interim. From what we glean, it supports CDMA for VZW's network and quad-band GSM for SIM-packing Vodafone customers and other overseas roaming needs. No points for design originality (Q9, anyone?), but it does boast a wealth of good features including two megapixel camera, EV-DO, stereo Bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, Windows Mobile (presumably 6.1), and a biometric fingerprint reader on the back of the phone. Not that we expected you to be eagerly anticipating this one, but we'd venture to say a cameo in the FCC means it's on track for release some time in the near future.

wait, what? This phone STILL isn't released? Wasn't it announced with spy shots and everything over a year ago?
You're thinking of the Q9n (Q9 Napoleon). The front has an uncanny resemblance not to mention nearly the same feature set. They did a limited release of the Q9n to government and large business customers from between December to February IIRC. You can find a used one on fleaBay on occasion. It sucks ass that VZW never really released the Q9n beyond that.
Looks like my dad will be getting a new phone, then. I went through four Q9m's before I bought an xv6900. Surprisingly, my dad has had zero problems with it since he got his 8 months ago. Apparently the Q smartphones are actually decent phones for some people.
What is Motorola?
I have this phone - it's fantastic, easily the best keyboard of any phone I've had I can type like hell. And, the fingerprint reader works flawlessly to unlock the phone. I actually like winmo std, but hate winmo pro. I had the saga (I need a winmo world phone for ota exchange), and this thing is MUCH better than that sorry piece of crap (reminds me i need to put the saga on ebay).
Moto actually developed a nice home screen for this phone too - sometimes a bit laggy,, but it really is much better than the normal homescreen (jump right to vm, email, calendar, txt, and has rss feeds for news, weather, etc).
2megapixel cam ouch, that hurts
wow this phone is old. the screen looks really tiny, that verizon logo on the black part probably means theres a huge black margin around the actual screen. lame!
So which is better, the two megapixel camera, or the 2 megapixel camera?
No it has two(2) megapixel cameras. A two megapixel and a 2 megapixel. And there both in one sensor. And they are incredible
oh, and did we mention the 2/two megapixel camera?!?
looks like motorola's going for blackberry design.
I expect a lot from first successful American cellphone company.
Pls, long live Moto. However, this is not the way to go.
All american cellphone has their distinctive design que,

Bring back your infamous designs into your smart phones!!!
startec like or RAZR like.
how about an innovative touch UI for MOTO?
Wait, a Q9 world edition?
WAAAYYY too late.
