Netronix EB-600 and EB-500 e-readers spotted at Computex
We can't say they look a whole heck of a lot different than the EB-300 and EB-100, but Netronix's EB-600 and EB-500 are still a push in the right direction. Seen at Computex, these e-readers pack a battery good for 8,000 page turns as well as a 6-inch (EB-600) / 5-inch (EB-500) e-ink display. We were even told that the EB-500 may end up with a slide-out keyboard, but as of now, all we can do is sit Indian style, meditate on the hands-on shots down in the read link and dream of what may some day be.

There have been a lot of e-readers announces lately... :/
These things should become as common as bedbugs and twice as pesky. Even though they can certainly be useful, I wonder if they'll ever catch on. They ought to be a replacement for paper books in schools.
I posted a long HD quality video of these devices at http://techvideoblog.com/computex/netronix-e-ink-devices/ interviewing the woman that is the lead firmware engineer on these E-ink devices. Netronix is making an awesome 5" design, 6" with WiFi and with touchscreen input, 8" and 9.7" versions.
Indian style? Don't you mean criss-cross apple sauce? Blech...
Can't figure out if that's a fat hand or a stubby thumb.
it looks like a foot
If the screen is supposed to be 6", then that hand belongs to a five year old girl with really bad skin.
What you're looking at is a person who lost his fingers in an accident, so they replaced them with an e-reader instead.
I really like the simple design of the 5" model, especially if it has a slide-out keyboard.
So are these things any cheaper in China? It would be nice not to have to pay over $200 for one of these things...
for me file format support is the most important, next will be UI and screen size. I don't see the need for WiFi.
I did purchase the Cybook Gen3 and later returned it because it did not support all the formats I needed it to, I later got the BeBook which is great. I did send them an email with ideas for improvement and I was told a new version would be comming out in later part of this year.
The Cybook is overpriced and they hit you agan with the shipping price, BeBook on the other hand is just the right price and it supports (.txt, .rtf, .doc, .pdb, .prc, .pdf, .html, fb2, and more), I then got a 16GB SDHC card and it worksfine, I can now swap that card with my camera and hot have to buy one card for each device.
Wait what.
Only 8,000 page turns?
I'm screwed.
they just kept on getting bigger and bigger .... pretty soon you'll need a stand.
Netronics is the supplier for almost every ebook you have seen, aside from Amazon and Sony. BeBook, Cooler, crap eink device of the show is usally from these guys. They are a subsidary of PVI.
