Video: HRP-4C 'fashion robot' is getting married, won't shut up about it
Ok, ok, "she" isn't really getting married, that would be illegal outside of Massachusetts. Besides, HRP-4C is already hitched, apparently, to her creator Kazuhito Yokoi who appeared at the Osaka fashion show dressed in a tuxedo. Looking wobbly, perplexed, and creepy as hell, HRP-4C bravely slipped on a helmet of taffeta and lace in what's being called her first professional runway appearance. The crowd seemed to enjoy it until HRP-4C turned on them with her green lasers. Really, see for yourself in the unsettling video embedded after the break.

That's just...f'in creepy. I won't lie.
ew
ok where do I sign up?
It shouldn't be hard to get divorced from her doesn't it?
Well, if you don't mind the fact she will never get tired as she hunts you down and nags you to death.
The mouth is always open... why!?
Well i can only think of one thing she would be good for and one of the requirements for it would be to have an open mouth.
There's that moment in the middle of that where she just stops completely still on the runway for several seconds. And then the lights go dark.... in the movies that would be the moment when lasers come out of her eyes and kill everyone.
Wow... she looks kinda robotic but they need to work on the mother in law.
I was wondering if she was virgin, but after seeing her covered in that green stuff...you got the point.
WEIRDOS!
Of course they turn out the lights. The turn around would look too unrealistic to show.
WTF id the point of this robot besides giving head?
It's that old hag from that french movie, "Martyrs"!! the old lady in the back with glasses!
Here's a pic of her http://img5.allocine.fr/acmedia/medias/nmedia/18/65/17/46/18948854.jpg
I laughed out loud and I have no clue who you referenced. I have to agree that she is most definitely a clone.......or a robot perhaps? ;)
That is an ugly dress.
Recession Antidote please!
Next step reproduction ...
Does it have a off switch?
that's every man dream.
under the skirt you will find the USB 3.0 connector
Man... and I can't even keep up with real asians!
It's unsettling enough to see the perpetual O face on the bride, but she apparently consummated the marriage before the wedding, too. WTF!?
Only Japan makes these creepy, doe-faced female androids. In the international competition to make the first sex bots, it's quite apparent to me that they'll make the prototype.
It's not creepy, just down right ridiculous.
I still don't get why people are so eager to treat mindless mechanical contraptions as if they were real, cognitive beings.
Because they hope that one day they will create a cognitive being. If it is in fact true that all that makes us human is stored physically in our brain then it is certain that one day we will be able to create mechanical humans.
Glow in the dark vibrator... That too is a gadget isn't it? Wait, I need to patent something. I'll be right back.
The light show was nice. she can be her own entertainment at the wedding. Sexual remarks aside, I'm guessing her mouth is open to help dissapate the heat from the several motors powering her face.
Why are the Japanese so obsessed with creating creepy, human-looking robots?
LMFAO!!! She won't shut up. That is too funny.
US Rest-of-world
Can't harm to point this stuff out from time to time before the jokes become reality in too many half-minds as located in 'policy makers' heads.

(had to redo because I used arrows and engadget no like those)
Do or re-do, your comment is still boring.
Your comment is nonsensical here.
My comment is directed at the massachusetts joke, which of course is referring to gay marriage.
And yeah it wasn't an exciting comment, sorry
I love synchronicity! I was listening to random tracks and Black Sabbath's Iron Man started playing just as I started this video.
Synchronicity II is a great song by The Police.
They should put a red light in her chest and have it pulse like a heartbeat. Like the undead-robot bride in Disneyland's haunted mansion.
To wrabbit's question:
"Why are the Japanese so obsessed with creating creepy, human-looking robots?"
The Uncanny Valley is clearly very wide and very deep. To get to the Fembots that guys dream about is going to take researchers (and porn merchants) a long, bizarre and expensive trek to the other side—if that's even reachable.
btw, "the Uncanny Valley hypothesis holds that when robots and other facsimiles of humans look and act almost like actual humans, it causes a response of revulsion among human observers." —Wikipedia
. . . and yeah it's plenty creepy.
Now could someone explain this to me— why are all the idealized women created in Japanese comics and such ALWAYS essentially little girls with adult boobs?
Not sexy. THAT creeps me out no end.
"Now could someone explain this to me— why are all the idealized women created in Japanese comics and such ALWAYS essentially little girls with adult boobs?"
I don't know what are you talking about which comic title.
But Japanese women is normally short and slim body.
I was surprised when i came in America.Everybody so big and taller including women!
So, I think you can see little girl but I can see normal women. it's different human race.
