Update: We've finally come up from digging through source code and, sure enough, those images are all in there.
They better release the atomic version in Canada or else..

Yeah, cause like 99% of the population of Canada lives within an hour of the border. Should be real easy for them. And once they cross the border in, say North Dakota, there's usually a Best Buy within like 15 minutes of the border.
what color does FAIL look like because as a 1st gen Zune user I can say Microsoft has really pissed me off.

i have a first gen that microsoft has given me software updates for free for the last two years. up until the touchscreen, i've gotten everything any new zune received. i don't blame them that my two year old player isn't touchscreen so i can't all the bells and whistles the new zune hd gets. it's been one of the best tech investments i've made.

They just got the software on their review unit today, I think. Hopefully they'll take their time and write out one that is well-thought out, so I'm hoping they'll have it a few days from now.

It's hard to lament the lack of an Apple logo directly in a review. Takes time to think up all the ways to indirectly allude to it. ;)

hmm, the other colors don't interest me but the atomic looks cool. with that red-orange color and that cool design.
Yeah, the atomic graphics really do look nice. Zune's come a loooong way from "Shitwater Brown".
i dont understand why they come out with all these colors but didnt think to make a 64gb version!!!
Because unfortunately for anyone who isn't Apple who happens to have the flash chip makers by the balls, 64GB is still gonna be prohibitively expensive (it still pretty much is for the ipod touch).
With the way prices have been dropping though, I wouldn't be surprised to see one pop up after the holidays
The same reason many companies leave out features and models, future repeat sales. Put something out now that many people will purchase even though it lacks something they want then later release a new model with that feature and many early adopters will upgrade to the new model, and many that didn't purchase the previous model will get the new one now that it has that new feature or upgrade. Just look at Nintendo's GameBoy.
They did make a 64gb model, it just isn't out yet. It should be out a little before Christmas.
NAND flash is the most expensive part of the player and Microsoft does not buy in quantities anywhere near the amount that Apple does so they pay more for each chip. I'm sure their profits on the ZuneHD are already razor thin.
better yet, they better release the Zune HD in Canada...
or Europe :/

Dear Microsoft whats with the shaft for Puerto Rico, Northern Mariana Islands, US Virgin Islands, Guam, & American Samoa we use the dollar, speak the language and were kinda sorta under the same jurisdiction give an answer why we cant get it why the hell was canada before us

Everyone knew those were coming. In case you didn't see, these are different, unheard of colors.

which makes one assume that the Zune HD only came out in 2 colours but in fact it was released in 5.
Thats all I'm saying.
By early adopters, I believe he meant people who wouldn't wait for Zune Originals. But I understand your point. Sorry if I was a bit terse.
