Kensington slaps DisplayLink into USB universal docking stations
We've gone over one whole month without speaking of DisplayLink, and honestly, it's killing us on the inside. Thus, we're thrilled to see yet another product looking to the always-popular USB port for guidance, with Kensington's two newest universal docking stations channeling your graphics, peripherals and even internet journeys (only on the $149.99 K33926US, not on the $129.99 K33930US) over one single cable. Put simply, these docks allow users to connect up a set of speakers, USB peripherals and even a DVI / VGA display, and when you stroll in with your laptop, you simply link the two via a single USB connection and enjoy a "docked" experience. What's most interesting here, however, is the maximum resolution support; while most universal docks top out well below the 1080p mark, these two support resolutions as high as 2,048 x 1,152. Oh, and if you're just looking to connect a few (up to six) monitors to your existing rig via USB, the $79.99 Universal Multi-Display Adapter should be able to help.[Via HotHardware]

Will it charge my laptop through that one USB cable?
If your laptop supports being charged via USB, then maybe.
Of course, I've never seen a laptop that supports that, but hey, I've been out of the loop before...
Wow, with 4 screens, I will finally be able to see my whole FarmVille farm!
But, how will my DRS rest upon that? Why did they change the design to upright, and not keep it flat so as to rest your laptop/DRS on it to enhance cooling?
You guys are Kensington fan boys.
Maybe my math's off here, but I don't see how this thing can support those resolutions at 60fps + KB + mouse + sound over a single USB connection. It's gonna get choppy...
Mac support is really bad on the Kensington.
The HD/Ethernet version model K33926US does not support Mac at all.
And the other model supports Mac but data sheet states ""Note to Mac® computer users: Video responsiveness of connected external monitor is reduced but functional for everyday computing"

Toshiba Dynadock still looks better, but neither one would be good to buy right now before USB 3.0 comes out.
I'm with danwallie...
sound, all your USB peripherals, a display at 2,048 x 1,152 all through one USB cable...
