TAG Heuer and Tesla Motors team up to show off products you can't afford
The Tesla Roadster runs on batteries, and so too do (many) TAG Heuer watches. It's out of this obvious correlation that the TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster was born, a one-off special edition skinned in some unfortunate graphics then blessed with an extra slot in the center console for a similarly spendy Meridiist phone. There's also room in there for a one-fifth second analog Heuer Limited Edition Stopwatch, which sounds like a very useful addition indeed. Those attending Geneva Motor Show later this week will have a chance to see this (otherwise stock) car in-person, while the rest of us will have to make do with the gallery of photos below, which truly shows that "technology -- whether worn on your wrist or driven on the road -- can help us live better while we tread more lightly on this planet." These words courtesy of Elon Musk, who can surely be seen at the show wearing a giant piece of wrist-borne chronography.

What a waste for a few decals. Just give me a regular Elise or Exige... I'll be happy.
@paul34 Thank you! I've been saying this ever since Tesla was formed.
@paul34
Yes me too this much talked about American dream car is almost completely British engineered and the original Lotus models are ALOT cheaper.
@paul34
Oh, well I mean this particular "special" edition of the Tesla Roadster. But I think I'd also take a regular Elise if someone offered me the choice between that an a Roadster.
anything that tag heuer makes is unaffordable...!!
@arunvisruth
Not really. Their watches are actually cheap compared to some other analog watch brands out there. I like my GC 17RS.
@arunvisruth
Yeah Tags tend to be on the cheaper side as far as watches go. Compared to other sports watch brands like Rolex or Omega.
@Abuzar1 : Not compared to my Wal-Mart Timex!
@arunvisruth
Yeah but it's not the in the same category lol. They are classified as luxury watches.
I still don't think running on a battery qualifies a Tesla as being a gadget, it's a car leave it to the car blogs. As most pro car reviewers point out the Tesla is nothing special and in fact the only bit Tesla make is the motor, the rest is Lotus engineering.
Gadgets usually fit in your pocket (or at least a bag) Tesla is boring.
Man I'd be a Tiger on the prowl in this thing.
Too soon?
@Luke
Just a little.
sitting in that interior looks like being trapped in a German post office.
They've got the wing mirrors the wrong way round. For a LHD car green (i.e. "get in this side") should be on the left, surely. Or is this a mockup for UK usage?
Actually, aren't most (if not all) Tag's mechanical - which is to say, the don't use batteries at all?
Either way, I'm not impressed by a Tag branded roadster that is going out of production. Wake me up when there's a sports car powered by an automatic movement. That would be something.
Usually love teslas cars, but this is just ugly.
Has anyone asked the stupid question yet? "Why is one mirror red and the other green?" Red = Port, Green = Starboard... It is a nautical thing.
Tesla is old hack. Fisker is the way forward, theyre EV sports cars are beautiful haha
