Packard Bell Studio ST media playback drive invades Europe
It's not much more than a hard drive with HD media playback abilities, but the Packard Bell Studio ST certainly looks nice, doesn't it? It's Europe-only for now, but we're hoping parent company Acer brings over a US-branded version of this box, which holds up to a 2TB hard drive and can do 1080p out over HDMI with Dolby Digital. Codec support is described as "all main formats," which is a little shady, but we'll be forgiving if it's cheaper than the Western Digital WD TV Live HD.

I might just be nitpicking, but for that price imo the remote looks really cheap
@synth
That remote looks identical to the one that came with my Asus Air Internet radio. Cheap as it looks, it works better than the radio.
@synth
Wait... Packard Bell.......... still EXISTS??? I used to call them Puckerd Ducks. Absolutely the worst garbage computers ever made. Even worse than Gateway.
The brand name Packard Bell makes me want to run away screaming. I still haven't forgotten the horrors of their desktop computers.
@kabloink
It's about the most substandard brand you can get, beneath them is KIRF's
@kabloink Some of the WORST experiences I have had with personal computers have been with Packard Bells.
Probably the same hardware as the WDTV Live that or another generic Realtek 1073 player.
Wait... There's still a Packard Bell?
@sydcinema
I know right? Though they died off well before Y2K would have had a chance to brick their desktops.
@sydcinema
Acer bought the company. but their computers still feels cheap.
