Imagine all the hype and gushing that would be done if this was an Apple product!!! They would have reinvented the way we play games... poor Microsoft just about get a mention....
@pcuz the problem is that the cost of researches and developments that this baby had is even over apple's big cash right now.i'm just in the shock of how much coding it needs,no its not videochat(oh sorry lord vader i ment facetime)that takes 1.5 year from jobs empire to write. but of course it will not get the hype that the charismatic man always have for its product. the scale's are not comparable.
I was kind of hoping for some news about AT&T, Uverse, and Mediaroom. Not really the right forum but weirder things have happened.

It's got to be tough to go first. Last year it seemed like Sony made some last minute adjustments to try and match MS's presser.
This year I think MS did and awesome job... very blanced imho. Megatonz delivered too. Sony and Nintendo won't let MS take this without a fight.. I gather.

@majg the problem is when wii came out with motion there was that technology available to other ones and after some time that technology even end up in mobile phones. but THIS,this is not something that sony or nintendo can achieve.at least not without billions of investment
Its amazing how most engadget posts for quality non-apple products would have some kind of an 'think again before buying' comment embedded. In this piece the words are "interesting / guaranteed-to-embarrass"

they spent all this money re engineering the xbox to be smaller, why couldnt they put a new GPU in it as well....is it really that hard..

You cannot just upgrade parts and piss off the millions of previous owners.
You have to give it a brand new name. Then its allowed.

Xbox360 is still seriously lacking at it's core. The industry and even Microsoft themselves has said that xbox has hit the wall it can't do any better than it is. Project natal is just a desperate grab. Other than some of the games it just does not make sense to get a 360 over a PlayStation 3 which does everything better and is STILL getting better itself. The move controller will make it better yet. Microsoft needs to move on to another system or just stop spending money on their ailing platform....
@Thor e I think where Xbox wins is Xbox Live. Even though PSN is free, it just doesn't compare to Xbox Live. Xbox also has many exclusives like Halo, Gears of War, and Fable.
@Thor e by that logic Sony should abort all future gaming consoles and flee from the gaming market completely, they still cant turn a profit on the PS3, they are constantly losing exclusives to Microsoft, they played the "me too" game with Nintendo by just flat out copying the Wii, and the PSP was a catastrophic failure. Microsoft has created a completely new way to play and experience games that playing with sticks doesnt offer, they showed why they won the console wars with sony today, and better yet the free online service of sony is still being dominated by the $4 a month xbox lives service (which now integrates with an amazing new phone platform coming soon)
Where is the hands on? Sony practically was begging reporters to try Move.... Is it coming later?
I don't know if any of these wii like devices from other makers will stick, but its fun to watch them try.
@aramc this isnt really Wii like in any way and dominates Wii Fit on every level which is probably the main reason most people have a Wii... Playstation however completely ripped off the Wii
Wow? not too impressed! no big news, no big games, and why would I pay $300 for a game console that cant even play a blu-ray disk??? I know the whole streaming argument but remember the 360 already has a disk player built in so why be so cheap and not upgrade it to blu-ray or drop the price $100??? Looks like 2010 is going all PS3!!!
@B1 why because theyre adding ball on a stick and still over charging for the console and games? unless youre referring to the mobile gaming market with the new PSP but even then WinPho will probably be better... amazing games without carrying another device around? sold
just wish the 360 slim was cheaper, $300 for a 5 yr old console seems steep to me, $100 price drop over 5 yrs, please?
and WHY can't MSFT incorporate the Zune HD in here somewhere?
@JmHal well Zune service is on the 360 now... and i think theyre making a new Zune HD that will be able to play marketplace/xna games

I'm hoping for some support for the first gen, because its been piss poor thus far, was hopping for apps (since there is a marketplace for it with 22 apps in it, no there isn't any zeros missing, 22). Can't help but feel like a guinea pig for the zune UI so that MSFT can determine if it will work for their phone and xbox platforms, its like a $300 beta program. So I don't care about Zune HD2 when gen 1 hasn't inspired confidence in MSFT device support.
that's the only reservation i have about buying the 360 slim, getting screwed for being an early adopter (xbox 360 & Zune HD - both MSFT and both less then stellar experiences). Despite the slim being a new rev of 5 yr old hardware it is still a major revision.
@JmHal the 360 slim plays everything the 360 fat plays, so you arent really going to have to worry about support for it as it has amazing support. as for the Zune i think you may have gotten screwed, they tried the WinCompact with Metro UI and im sure you can see its beautiful and quick, but i think they are dropping it and remaking it to better accommodate the new WinPho Marketplace, hopefully they will offer some sort of deal to ease the knife out of your back on that one
MSFT has done great this year. The year isn't even over yet.

The flaws of Kinect/Natal were apparent during the conference. The in game character moved before the person. It seems like it was all staged!

hey i really love the new concept of microsoft. also the partnership with espn is awesome. my question would be if espn broadcasting will available worldwide or only in USA. since i live in germany i would love to have english commentry with live sports. also would this new xbox work in europe(germany specifically) if i get it from US? coz i cant wait till mid july for it. ;-)

Am I the only person out there that think's casual gaming has taken over the gaming circuit, all I see is gimik's like PS Move and MS Nat.. Kinetic taking over 85% of the two biggest players at E3. Leaving the remainder showing a few snips of decent games that people will love for more than the initial 15min's of fun.
I'm a XBOX fanboy and even I have to admit that the 15% of the real game's that Sony showed beat our conference just because they actualy anounced somthing I haden't a clue about, Twisted Metal.
Don't ban my gold account yet though. The new 360 is great, some features that finaly can shut some PS3's up, WiFi mostly and the fact sony offer a subscription based service will get them off my back a little too.
I just want to step back from the Gimik's like 3D that Sony seem to be parading around and forcing into people home's, like a overly proud parent and motion capture like Move and Kinect, which should include a wall mirror so that buyers petting a tiger called skittles can see they have become a tool, and get back to real title's that contain a plot, story and character development. Isn't that what gaming's all about?...

Microsoft definitely failed at this E3. Nintendo learned that they really need to appeal to the hardcore crowd more than the casual, but Microsoft( and Sony for that matter) failed to do that. Kinect will not take off until more hard core games are announced.
