iPad-toting Syte Shirt redefines 'multitasking'
Disgusted with Apple's refusal to bestow honest-to-goodness backgrounding to the iPad, even though the (presumably) weaker iPhone 4 has been doing it for weeks? You aren't alone. Syte Shirt, a new startup with a vision to change the world in a way you've never even dreamed of, has just announced its first product: the iPad-toting shirt that you're undoubtedly gawking at above. This pre-shrunk heavyweight cotton tee sports a slit on the inside for sliding your tablet into, and there's a window on the front that enables the wearer (or anyone else, for that matter) to fully interact with the tablet without you having to disrobe. Imagine that! Heck, there are even ports for accessing the dock connector and the 3.5mm headphone jack, which certainly helps to justify the otherwise unconscionable $49.95 to $54.95 price tag. Right? Right?
New Start-up, Syte Shirt, Launches Hands-Free Interactive iPad Clothing
Don't carry your iPad. Be seen with it.
San Diego, CA - July 22, 2010: If you are one out of the millions iPad users out there, it's likely that you have purchased an accessory to go with your iPad. However, it's also likely that your accessory does not let you carry your iPad hands-free, allowing you to do other tasks. A new start-up in San Diego named Syte Shirt is looking to change that. Syte Shirt manufacturers an interactive shirt that lets you safely carry the iPad hands-free on your chest while allowing you and others to fully interact with the iPad through a transparent window. Not only is it an accessory, the shirt is also a fashion statement for those that want to show off cool designs, photos, movies, or animations while trotting around town. It's the first shirt that has a constantly changing design!
The functional and comfortable Syte Shirt is made from 100% pre-shrunk heavyweight cotton and features slits on the inside of the window to give you the ability to plug in your headphones or charge the iPad conveniently without having to remove it. The inside and neckline of the shirt are designed with areas of support that distribute the weight of the iPad to prevent any distortion. The placement of the iPad on the shirt also allows for lots of mobility whether you are sitting down or walking.
Some example of Syte Shirt usages:
• Play movies or interactive games to entertain your kids while keeping your hands free
• Show off your photos with a group of friends
• Broadcast a football game while enjoying a tailgate party
• Promote your artwork, music, and other multimedia anywhere
• Advertise your business by playing promotional content while speaking to customers
• Tech-savvy educators can grab students' attention by creating interactive lessons
• Trade show vendors can run product demos while working in the booth
• Businesses can hire people to be mobile info booths to display interactive info and maps
"We think of the Syte Shirt as a platform for wearable computing. The possibilities of this product are only limited by the imagination of its users, and I really think we're going to be amazed by the ideas our customers come up with for this great product. We encourage our customers to be creative and send us photos of how they're using their Syte Shirt to jyoung@syteshirt.com," says founder, Joseph A Young.

Ok this is seriously getting out of hand.......
@yankdez
Along with super tight jeans, emo glasses, and an endless supply of "I'm a mac" t-shirts.
@Hell Angel
What is the practicality of a shirt like this? Who is the target market?? That will pay $50 for a t-shirt???
Hipsters?
@Plazmic Flame
I thought $50 was normal for a shirt.
@Hell Angel
It is sickening that even a geeks think it's too corny. Publish humiliation never look so good.
The things these people do to try to make their product relevant.
Nothing you do will justify your purchase of this device.
@Hell Angel -- Yea, it's literally the ugliest thing I've ever seen
@Hell Angel
clearly no one is seeing the totally practical use for this shirt...picking up 8 year olds outside of a market (?) by playing disney movies on it!!!!! 8 year olds, dude...
@Plazmic Flame The same morons that bought the big assed ipod?
@Hell Angel It's strange, however, because as soon as you put the iPad in the sleeve, the screen auto"magically" displays "I'm a colossal douche."
@Hell Angel
I know some guys long to be effeminate and all but wearing your ipad on your chest is not the same as the ladies wearing theirs on...... never mind..
@yankdez
Where's the one with the should pocket for my iPhone? And that's including the rear access pocket for my iPod touch with USB dongle (to plug into my iMac).
Cause chances are that an iPad user also owns a iPod touch and iPhone and syncs everything via iTunes on an iMac.
This version is not good enough, needs a version for all my iDevices!
@Hell Angel
Wow! I never thought I'd see the day when a product out douched Ed Hardy.
@Hell Angel
Hey there, welcome to Mcdonalds.
Please touch my shirt and chose which of our delicious items you would like"
- picture of stranger touching mcdonalds worker -
- end of mcdonalds -
@Hell Angel Do you realise the brilliance of your unintended iPun, or what it intentional? :)
@Hell Angel
- Wears iPad shirt, displays Disneys UP movie, walks to park and waits for the bait to bite -
Child abducting made easier.
@recharged95
I can guarantee you that anyone who would wear this already has a "rear access pocket".
@Hell Angel
Seriously.. the profit margins on this are in line with what Apple marks up their accessories. You pay $39 for an iPad cover that costs $1-2 to make. You pay $50 for a shirt that costs $3 to make.
The point is.. don't just bust on this company for their mark up.
@Hell Angel
Is it, is it really?
Or are you just waiting out for the turtleneck version?
@Plazmic Flame The same people that bought a product they already hown for two times the price maybe?
@gschier
I would have to agree. That is the ugliest thing I have ever seen, and the shirt is ugly to.
@Hell Angel This makes me want to kick that nerd right in the iPad
@Elchupacabra
He's not a nerd. I refuse to belong to the same social group as this pathetic human being.
@Plazmic Flame
I would like to retract me previous statement. If this guy can get a version for the girls at Hooters, he will be a millionaire, I promise you that.
@Plazmic Flame
The same people that throw away money on Mac products in general.
@Hell Angel
maybe if it it looked like this people would be willing to touch it: http://yfrog.com/jkportrait116x12bj
@Hell Angel
"getting out of hand"
I see what you did there.
@Plazmic Flame No! Not hipsters. They are targeting stupid people who are willing to set themselves up to get robbed by a mugger. I'm sure muggers are drooling over this news. Not only will the victim be robbed of their shit and iPad, they will also be robbed of $50 dollars.
@JStar **** I meant shirt
@Hell Angel
The label next to the pocket says "Insert iPad here"
The label at the neck says "Insert hipster iDiot here"
@Hell Angel
This is why we can't have nice things. Don't get me wrong, I own an iPhone and think macs are good tools (win7 ftw)....but apple junkies wonder why the rest of the world thinks they are super gay and ridiculous....
@Plazmic Flame Not even the hipsters my friend.
@Plazmic Flame What the fuck is a hipster?
@Hell Angel
Just think of how much money you save not having to buy condoms?
Are you people kidding me??? Imagine this guy at a bar and tell me which girl would say no to him...
"Hey baby, you wanna talk to me? I'll buy you a drink and let you check your emails too!!"
@Camperton
http://www.latfh.com/
Just start scrolling down...

@NinjaGabeX How can it be gay when he's holding melons?
@NinjaGabeX
Warning: one size fitsa all, may cause issues for females.
@NinjaGabeX : Falcon Kick to the chest!
@NinjaGabeX
Not that Asian dude in the pics, He totally had those 5 year old chicks staring at his chest!
@NinjaGabeX I'm sure your friends say "Gay" when they're talking about you, but what does that have to do with this horrible shirt?
@NinjaGabeX
GAY !
Crapgadget of the week. Maybe even of the month.
@GldRush98
try the decade..
@GldRush98
Seriously, anyone who's enough of a d-bag to buy this deserves the beating the muggers are going to give them.
