Indie Games Summer Uprising gets new trailer, community voting begins

XBLIG Summer Uprising logo

So, those eight games chosen to headline the Xbox Live Indie Games Summer Uprising, would you like to see some footage? No? How about footage set to the tune of Mega Man 2's first Dr. stage? Yes! We knew you would come around.

Since you're here, you should also know that community voting for the final two games has begun. Check out the entries page on the Summer Uprising website and then head over to the Facebook page to cast your vote. We'd love to strong-arm our readers into voting for The Jump Hero, but what sort of example would that set for other responsible websites?

The Summer Uprising officially begins later this month on August 22.

The Summer Uprising community vote starts this week!

Community is requested! From Monday, August 1st – Monday, August 15th, fans will have the opportunity to choose two (2) titles that they would like to see as part of the promotion on any of the remaining candidates from the IGSU entries page. Voting will take place on the IGSU Facebook page. Winners will be announced during the #IGSU Twitter chat.

Do you think you found a hidden gem that we passed over? Now is the time to make your voice heard!
The #IGSU Twitter Chat will be held on Tuesday Aug 16th – 9PM EST, and the gaming community will have the ability to speak directly with the developers, organizers, and journalists in a roundtable style chat.

The IGSU page has had some large changes recently as well:

New trailer showcasing the top 8 developer picks
Hand drawn character art for each of the 8 titles, prominently displayed on the front page
Updates Games Page, with added details to the Top 8
Updated FAQ page

Release dates will be solidified next week, with the two community voted titles releasing on the final two dates. For review codes, please contact the respective developer for that title. All of their contact information is now found on their title's page.
