Previously on MV TV: The week of May 12th

Previously On banner

What a week of livestreaming! We've got quite the variety and tons of hours of video to watch. What's that? You had to work and missed half of the cool streams we showed? Don't worry! I gather all of the best streams from the week's collection and list them for you right here. Still, you need to bookmark our livestream page so you can see which videos are going to be shown during the week, but if you miss any, you can check out the recap here. That's why we do it.

This week we had a lot to offer. First we had good old Mike jumping into EVE Online for some space action, then into TERA for some scantily clad combat! He then explores some of the great browser-based game Drakensang Online. MJ brought a ton of goodies to the streaming table, goodies like a run-through in EverQuest II, some base-jumping in City of Heroes, a bit of hardcore survival in Xsyon, and a flight around the beautiful lands of Aion. I rounded out the end by streaming some BatMUD, a cool MUD that has been around since many of you have been in diapers!

Click past the cut and grab some popcorn. Keep the butter light but add some salt. Thanks.

This week on the EVE Online stream, Mike managed to make it all the way to the edge of low-security space as Cannonball Rum, the brave but stupid adventurer we've all come to know and love. No EVE cannonball run would be complete without taunting a pirate, of course, which means Mike's voyage can only end in tears. As usual.

In this week's TERA stream, Mike confidently demonstrated how not to tank an instance dungeon. Of course, he had some help from an overzealous PUG, one that had no time for measured pulls, aggro management, or any of the other elements of competent dungeon-running. Tune in to see a glorious wipe and all the things that come with it.

How many times can one man accidentally be killed by roving gremlins and angry witches? Find out by watching Mike's ridiculous stream of free-to-play, browser-based Drakensang Online. Here's a pro tip: If you drink every time Mike dies, you won't remember how terrible he is at the game!

EverQuest II banner

What happens when wave after wave of orcs crash upon MJ's Emyja and her sidekick, Pikachu? That question was answered as EverQuest II-sday offered a run through of one complete Heritage Quest. What's so special about HQ's, you might ask? Other than earning status to buy cool stuff, the rewards are really cool items that can be mounted and used to decorate!

City of Heroes banner

Base jumping, City of Heroes style! This week MJ highlighted the creativity of players by showcasing supergroup bases; you just have to see all the incredible places to believe them! During one tour she was confronted by Lord Nemisis himself. MJ is starting to think there is a special achievement given to devs for sneaking in and spooking her! After unsuccessfully trying to recruit her to his nefarious schemes, Nemesis reappeared unexpectedly in a big way. Check it out!

Although MJ was expecting a rousing game of chicken (mutant-style) during her tour of Lake Tahoe, the land was eerily quiet except for some rustling in the bushes. Apparently Xsyon's animal kingdom was a bit camera shy. It figures that the one time she goes looking for death, it's nowhere to be found. Instead, she got locked into a fort, toured some tribal lands, tried some cliff jumping, and axed a tree into oblivion. Well, logs. At least she didn't lose any clothes to looters!

The Seraphim Lords really have something against MJ's pulling off a siege livestream in Aion. In this week's attempt, the Hearts of Tiamat in Tiamaranta fell within seven minutes, affording no time to run between any. But thanks to incredible luck (and massive amounts of kindness on the part of Massively's own Jeremy Stratton), MJ was finally able to show of some siege action in Gelkmoros, including PvP, door-busting weapons, and a surprise cameo of a very big fan! Who kept trying to steal the show? Watch and see.

Lastly I took a look at BatMUD, a fantastic (though confusing) bit of old-school MUDdy goodness. Watch as I stumble through the game but still manage to find some fun. It's a unique game that cannot be covered in a few hours, so expect a return to this game in the future. If MUDs are a bit of a mystery to you, this stream might help clear things up.

Did you miss Massively TV last week? Are you too busy to dig through a week's worth of video to get to the highlights? Never fear! We've done the work for you right here in Previously on MV TV, a roundup of epic battles, tragic deaths, and juicy outtakes from last week's livestreams.
