Previously on MV TV: The week of May 26th
This week was another fun week of livestreaming for the folk at Massively. While I missed my turns at the mic, I still enjoyed checking out many of the killer moments that come from a typical week of MMO streaming. This week we have EVE Online, TERA, Diablo III, EverQuest II, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, Fallen Earth and Aion. You know, your usual group of kick-butt videos! Click past the cut and tune in!
With a 100 million ISK bounty on his head, Mike ventured out into EVE Online's dark reaches to test some of the cool new features implemented with last week's Inferno update. Missiles abound as Mike works to push his security standings up and generally make things explode. Oh, and there's a jetcan mining demonstration at the end, complete with a cameo from an audience member.
If you love watching disastrous instance runs that end in total party wipes (and bitter tears), this week's TERA stream is the one for you. Tune in to see what it's like to tank as a Lancer and what it's like to tank as a Lancer while your healer goes to make himself a sandwich. Mike would like to dedicate this TERA stream to the glory of the PUG.
Richie went to hell and all he got was a lousy t-shirt. Seriously, every piece of loot that dropped in hell mode of Diablo III was for characters other than a Witch Doctor! But that didn't stop him from slaughtering throngs of demons and rifling through sun-bleached corpses in search of the elusive legendary items. Check out the recorded stream to watch Richie traverse Act 2 armed with a blowgun and the ability to rain toads upon his enemies. Disclaimer: Only virtual toads were harmed during the making of this show.
Kung Fu Kitty started off the week by reveling in the extra day of double XP while checking out some under-used dungeons, DeathFist Citadel and Permafrost. While watching her levels pile on, MJ demonstrated just how many mobs can be crammed into one small hallway! Next, on EverQuest II-sday, MJ joined brave viewers to tame the wild beasts of Blackburrow. It's tame or be tamed! Guess which prevailed? Watch as MJ leads the group that's heavy on spanked and light on tanked!
Stalked by Snowmen took a hiatus in favor of Days of Our Chickens! This week, the GM got sneakier while shadowing MJ as she got back into the Disciple groove. Wandering around the Isle of Dawn, MJ found a cave full of big-teeth baddies to beat on and tried her hand at a round of the new game punt-the-chicken. The score after round one? Chicken 1, MJ 0. Well, if she couldn't beat him, why not join him? Watch the night end with some genuine chicken dancing.
Few games offer so much in ambiance that you can literally lose yourself just wandering around. Unless you are MJ, for whom getting lost while wandering around is par for the course. Galloping around the desert on her steed, MJ shows off the elements that really bring Fallen Earth to life, from realistic resource nodes (oh look -- a wheelbarrow!) to detailed infrastructure. Of course, FE has more than just sightseeing. Ever felt like walluping someone over the head with a frying pan? You can experience it vicariously by watching MJ wields some cast iron when she runs out of ammo for her pistols.
There's hunting, and then there's house hunting. Tour Guide Daeva (aka MJ) embarked on the latter, checking out different Elysean homes in Heiron as well as Oriel. Looking for a place with palm trees near the beach? MJ found some. She also showed off some of the different furniture, even testing the comfiness of different beds. Well, it was a full-service tour, after all. And just to make sure the area remained safe for the strolling couples, she dispatched the rabid Riffletips swarming the streets. Oh the dangers that lurk outside your front door...
