One Shots: Standing room only

I love Bards and Bard-type classes. Always have, always will. There's something wonderfully against-the-typical-fantasy-grain about them in how they prefer a good solo on a harp to cleaving things in two with axes.

Reader Rebecca sent us in her Bard doing an impromptu woodland concert: "Here my Bard Rozily is strumming a tune in Northern Highlands as the snow begins to drift down. Sometimes in Vanguard you have to stop and enjoy the scenery."

Reader Fel is among One Shots' more ardent supporters: "So f**king glad this column is back. I have attached a set of panoramas I took of TERA. This one is the Freehold zone right outside Velika. This game is filled with marvelous vistas!"

It certainly does seem that this game has been the talk of the town lately. Perhaps free-to-play is getting once-jaded gamers to give it a serious second look? It's certainly not hard on the eyes, after all.

Some of us have resigned ourselves to the fact that we'll never have the time to see all of the cool raiding areas in MMOs, which is why I'm glad that folks like React do some proper photojournalism when they game. React managed to snap this picture before tackling a big baddie: "This is a picture of the last boss in the Eternity Vault operation in Star Wars: The Old Republic. I snatched this picture with the in-game camera item in the transition between phase one and phase two. My good friend Nyar is waiting for the platforms under Soa to collapse so our raid can jump down the the second level and beat Soa up some more."

The poor Charr -- they just can't seem to catch a break in Guild Wars 2. Even though they're practically the face of the game, it seems as if this felines are among the least-popular amongst players. Maybe the devs should've made a doggy race? I'd be down for that.

"This screenshot depicts my Charr shrugging at an anti-Charr propaganda poster in the human town of Ebonhawke," Reader Rufus laments. "The reason I like the screenshot so much is that it's so very near the reality Charr players face in-game. Very few people dare to actually create a Charr avatar. I, however, am one of them -- I play only Charr."

I'm putting out a plea for screenshots, any screenshots this week. Our email folder is dangerously underweight and needs to be fed with scrumptious screenies. Won't you send yours in along with a story, please?
