The Queue: The Vale, columnists, and more character model chat

The Queue

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

Farewell, beauty of the Vale. You were gorgeous, but your quests drove many a player to madness. Is your fate deserved? Maybe.

MichaelBarrs asked:

for reasons out of my control I've been absent from Mists since not long after launch. If I continue to quest to level 90 will I get to see the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in its pristine state, before Garrosh went and ripped it a new one or is that something I will have missed out on permanently?

Unfortunately, the Vale That Was is long gone. The damage might be undone in-game one day, but we don't know anything about that. For now, it's wrecked.

WrecklessMEDIC asked:

I just saw another player from a different server (Tichondrius) on my server (Vashj) in Pandaria. Under his name it said "Coalesced Realm". Is this the beginning of Virtual/Connected Realms?

Not yet. You most likely saw someone ported over via CRZ, but since CRZ isn't active in Pandaria, that person was specifically invited over by a friend of theirs.

BnDov3r asked:

Anything you can tell us about when to expect the new class writers to start? Or which positions have already been filled?

It took us awhile to get everyone together to look through the apps, and going through the apps themselves takes a good, long time. Our first choices should probably keep an eye on their inboxes this week.

BaronOfTheLake asked:

Regarding your main's race, if you could change one part of it's art/model/skeleton, what would it be?

Human female. That dance has got to go. I cannot possibly imagine the moves she pulls off were relevant to pop culture in 2004, certainly 2013/2014. They loaded the human gal up with the most embarrassing choices possible.

It would also be nice to have better animations when using two-handed weapons. The human female has pretty awesome animations for sword and board, and dual-wielding swords/daggers feels great on a rogue, but the animations make it pretty clear that the human woman can barely lift/hold a two-handed weapon. That's just awful. I'm not sure any of the other character models have that problem.
