HTC 8XT for Sprint: what's different?
Sprint started this summer with no Windows 8 phones, and now its lineup includes two. The first to show up was the HTC 8XT, a device that's been modified for Sprint customers upgrading from old Windows Phones. So what exactly makes this particular handset sit apart from last year's flagship? As a modified version of last year's 8X, the 8XT is a decent upgrade for Sprint customers using Windows Phone 7, but it won't persuade anyone to switch carriers or change platforms. Read on for more.

Sony's DSLR-like Alpha A3000 mirrorless camera ships next month for $399
Sony's managed to duplicate mid-range DSLR functionality in its NEX series of mirrorless cameras, but while experienced photographers recognize the value of such a device, amateurs looking to step up from a point-and-shoot often opt for a full-size DSLR. So, to suit these misinformed customers, Sony's created a mirrorless camera that looks like a DSLR, but offers the feature set -- and price tag -- of an entry-level compact ILC. Samsung exec confirms Galaxy Gear and Note III announcement on September 4th
During a chat today with the Korea Times, Samsung exec Lee Young-hee announced that we'd see both the Galaxy Gear and the Galaxy Note III announced at IFA on September 4th. The mobile VP killed rumors of a flexible display on the "wearable concept device," but wouldn't comment on the upcoming flagship phablet. Want more details?
