The Queue: The Dog Below

The Queue The Dog Below

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Mike Sacco will be your host today.

This is the last Queue in which I'll be answering questions about The Dark Below.

GabrielSchenk asked:

Why are the Goblin auctioneers dancing in the Siege of Orgrimmar Wing 2?

(I've only played the wing once, but they were all dancing last night and I thought it was weird!)

If you can get over there (stealth/invis/etc) and chill for a bit, you can see the whole scenario play out. The Kor'kron are forcing them to dance.

GordonSullivan asked:

Is it just me or do WI comments seem to be disappearing?

It happens to me, too. I commented on a few posts the other day and they all disappeared, even via permalink, then some came back hours later. It's a LiveFyre thing. I don't know what to tell you.

Rollo asked:

Has anyone figured out where the Hearthsteed mount comes from? I finally got a beta key for Hearthstone so im really curious now.

No news yet. As we understand it, it'll be part of a promotion, but we don't know the details yet. I'm sure Blizzard will pipe up with them when it's time.

kushkitt3n asked:

Would there have been citizens of Gilneas who were paladins before the big ol' wall went up?

Good question. As the only paladins around prior to WoW were part of the Order of the Silver Hand, Gilnean paladins would have to have been part of the Order too. But as far as we know, Gilneas shut itself away from the world before the Order would have had time to spread there.

Alexey asked:

Wasn't Faction Balance supposed to be taken into account for Connected realms?

So far, out of more than a dozen connections, not a single one was balancing. All of them connected realms with same dominant faction.

Do you think it's simply because it's a start and we'll see actual balancing later?

Or is it because players will dislike going from Dominant to Equal, so it's purposely avoided?

The devs actually said faction balance wasn't the end goal with connected realms; in the end there's no way they can guarantee faction balance, since there are so many factors in play. They just wanted to make sure players had others to play with.

justmike asked:

I'm thinking TDB is the name. MOP was trademarked around the same amount of time before Blizcon. This is old hat for Bliz at this point, and in MOP. Trademarking something of this scope takes time. I'm thinking TDB or nothing this year, or something new for wow that we've not seen.

No.

butts.and.butts asked:

Basically, I think after the TBD 'leak' occurred, Blizzard contacted the important fansites to explicitly tell them it was not the next expansion and to please not tell anyone they said anything.

No.

Matthew20 asked:

What about "Heroes of the Storm" for the next expansion. We are heroes and if Wrathion's images were right, there is a storm coming. I know its for their DOTA title, but Blizzard could be tricksy like that.

No.

DruidDude asked:

Expansion actually is called "The Dark Below" and involves a return to the Maelstrom. The sanctuary there has been destroyed and must be restored, that is the thrust of the expansion. Ties back to Cataclysm and borrows heavily from lore WC3 introduced. Naga are introduced as a new playable race (neutral). Murlocs and Trolls, as well as humans, figure heavily into the story. No underwater zones, though the entire thing takes place beneath the ocean. Map entry point or location for the new "continent" will be right where the Maelstrom is seen now - in the center of the map. Only five new levels planned, no new classes.

No.

EwokinLA asked:

I will not rule out The Dark Below until Blizzard reveals the next expansion

Okay.
