Hack 'n' Slash descends on Steam in its full glory

Hack 'n' Slash, Double Fine's pretty puzzle-action game, is now out in its full form on Steam, after a few months in Early Access. Hack 'n' Slash is a product of Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight game-jam-style initiative, and it was first pitched back in 2012.

"The Early Access community has been a huge help to the game as well; you all provided fantastic feedback and found really clever ways to break the game," project lead Brandon Dillon writes. "This game wouldn't have been possible without all of you."

The full game now supports Steam Workshop and mods, and it's shipping with the source code. Also included is the final act, which has players use all of their acquired hacking and slashing skills to solve the puzzles and stand off against the wizard.

"This is where my favorite puzzles and mechanics are introduced: You'll have to use the knowledge you've developed throughout the game and some clever thinking to break into the castle, ascend the tower, and take down the wizard," Dillon says. "It won't be easy, though; the castle is designed to defend against hackers, and the wizard won't go down without a fight."

Hack 'n' Slash is available for 33 percent off, $13.40, through September 16.
