Master Chief collects 15GB Day One download, launch trailer

Following grumbles about Halo: The Master Chief Collection's 20GB day one title update, 343 Industries chopped off 5GB and made it available today for users who've pre-ordered the game's downloadable version. Eurogamer verified the smaller-than-expected-but-still-plenty-big patch is 15GB, and according to 343 Executive Producer Dan Ayoub you can preload both the game and the patch now by turning Xbox One auto-downloads on.

The news follows yesterday's reportedly leaked cutscene from the collection, featuring Agent Locke and the Arbiter. The launch trailer below the break is rather more official, preluding the arrival of John-117's Xbox One compilation on November 11.

Halo Development Director Frank O'Connor took to NeoGAF last month to discuss the Day One download, saying 343 intended to avoid shipping the game on more than one disc: "The game is designed to run as a single, unified product, digital is seamless obviously, but we also wanted disc users to have the same experience, without swapping discs."

So, Spartans will be armed with a single disc when they take on Halo: The Master Chief Collection next week. To recap, the collection includes graphically upgraded editions of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4, with Halo 2 getting the HD Anniversary remaster treatment. It also grants access to video feature Halo: Nightfall and the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians beta. In short, it's hella Halo.
