Detailed review
So - I bought this based on the review here and elsewhere.

However - the wristband does not necessarily measure all "very active minutes" - for instance, it does does not register when I do a workout on the elliptical at the gym.

Now - there is an online dashboard where you can see your statistics, and add something like this when it does not register on the wristband. HOWEVER - BE AWARE: the information you enter will NOT, I repeat, will NOT, sync over from the website to the wristband.

I'm not sure what the point is of the wristband if it doesn't show all my activity, including that activity I have had to manually enter in the online dashboard. I would like to see my daily activity from the WRISTBAND which I wear all the time, and that is just not possible.

I sent an email to fitbit thinking this was a bug - but either it's just how it is, OR the email people have no reading comprehension skills, because their response, while nice, made no sense in the context of this particular problem.

Otherwise - the band is very comfortable and unobtrusive to wear, very easy to set up.

I agree - I expected more out of the wristband, but found that it really is meant to be a souped-up pedometer. While the science and data may not be what we expect, I still find that it has made a positive impact on my overall motivation and desire to move & be fit...so to that end it does its job.

Sounds like you're looking for a true heart-rate monitor. While sometimes more pricey for a good one (and less comfortable in my experience) the data is more true to your activity.
